I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem...I am taking 100 mg of Spiro (as well as Metformin and Yasmin) but recently in the past 2 months the hair on my legs has stopped growing--I'm not complaining! I know that the Spiro has stopped the hair growth on my face where I don't want it, yet I haven't shaved my legs in about a month and there is just a little stubble. I was just wondering if this was normal...
i was only on 10mg of spiro.. and found that it did nothing for me.. but my doctor wouldn't up the dosage.. so i said F it and stopped getting my refills.

10mg probably wouldn't do very much. you usually have you be on at least 75mg for at least 3 months in order for the anti-androgen effects to be noticeable. i've heard it doesn't work for everyone though.
but if that's the case.. then why didn't get just start me at like 50-- or even 75.. cause when he seen me i had a lot of hair and it's only gotten worse since i've been off it..

also abovetheextreme, if you can find a doctor that will prescribe it to you in a higher dosage, i'd say go for it. it takes some patience, but if it works it really will work. it won't magically make the hair grow away, but it won't grow as fast and be finer.

sounds like your doctor just isn't that knowledgeable about it (which is common and isn't surprising). you should really talk to your doc and tell them that you've done some research about effective dosages etc.
i went to my local doctor and he said that i would have to go back to my endo and go through more blood work and testing since it's been a long time since i've been on it.. and i don't feel like going.. it's a 3+ hour drive.. just for a higher dosage.. i hated going back and forth to the doctor all the time
