Unhappy Hair thined as PCOS got worse

Hi all,
I found that along with the weight gain body hair etc etc that my Hair thined out, I use to have thick hair. Right now I'm getting my weight down, but I wanted to know if anyone had any tips on what to do to encourge my hair to start growing back thick.
Any help would really make my day,
thank you ,
Carol

It was about 6-8 weeks. It was pretty amazing, I had 2 complete bald spots at my temples and the hair grew back in very thick completely covering the spots.

Wow, I am going out to get some right now!!

I lost weight and my hair loss got worse, not better. In fact, I never really even had hair loss when I was overweight

Did you take your Flax Seed alongside any prescribed medications?

Nope, I am not on any prescription medications.

I take GNC ground flax seeds....2 tablespoons a day...usually in yogurt.

And I take gnc epo 500 mg 2-3 pills a day.

I also take GNC ultranourish hair, 200 mcg chromium picolinate, and 1000 mg of vitamin c a day.

I also try to follow an IR type diet...but I havent been too faithful with it yet.

I have also added 6 pills of purified fish oil from whole foods a day.

and that's it...right now I am working on losing weight, eliminating processed foods from my diet, and exercising.

Hey Carol, my gyn said that low iron in the blood can be a cause of hair loss along with hormone imbalances and stress - so i had a blood test to check my ferritin levlels(the iron storage protein in ur body - i think!), but if its not low iron i'm just going to keep up the exercise, healthy eating and strength training and also take up yoga to help destress - its supposed to be v good for pcos suffers. so it might be worth u having ur iron levels checked? just an idea?!
good luck and hope u find something that works for u - u might find if u manage to lose the weight u want to lose, the hair loss may also decrease as ur hormone levels will hopefully normalise.
