 hairloss on bcps?
i've done my research and i know it happens, but i would like to hear if there are any first-hand accounts.
i am on my third month of nuvaring and started noticing large amounts of hair loss starting about 3 weeks in that has persisted and perhaps gotten worse. it's particularly bizarre because i was put on nuvaring to deal with pcos, but hair loss was never a problem for me; my symptoms generally consisted of acne and hirsuitism (and ovarian cysts).
i have read some things that say you should stay on the pill because the hair loss will stop after 3-4 months. has this worked for anyone? i am very concerned about going bald. i can't even really pull my hair back in a ponytail right now without some sort of headband because all of the loss is on the sides/hairline and my scalp is very noticeable. i'm tired of crying every day. i have a dermatologist appt. in another 2 weeks, but worry it will be too late. meanwhile, my gyno who prescribed the nuvaring says hair loss shouldn't occur despite the fact that nuvaring clearly lists it as a side effect.
