Could coming off bcp be making my hairloss worse? I've been taking bcp Diane for about 15 years, and have recently stopped to ttc. I've suffered from androgneic alopecia for ages, but since coming off bcp my hair's been falling out in huge chunks.

Does anyone know if this will settle down once my body get's used to be off bcp? If so, how long does it take? Is there anything I can do about it?

BCP's do lower your Testosterone some, so shedding is not as bad as it could be. My hair loss also increased after I stopped BCP's.
I need to take an anti androgen (Flutamide) to work on the DHT.
It has stopped the hair loss and caused major regrowth.

Generally about 3 mo after stopping BCP or giving birth a dread shed begins.In my experience the shed last 3-6 mo.
