I've just recently decided - having been diagnosed with PCOS for 10 years - that I need to be much more proactive and engaged with PCOS as opposed to just ignoring it. I finally have a great doctor and am feeling optimistic, except...
...my big barrier to getting physical with men is body hair. I have hair on my abdomen, face and breasts; I either wax, thread or pluck it all (I did electrolysis and laser several years ago but it has grown back).
My big question to the savvy board members is: what do those of you with butt hair do? I have it thickly covering my cheeks and even in my crack (TMI? Sorry ) If I shave, it comes back really quickly (and that doesn't solve the crack issue, and a lot of the hair is tough to access). Any insight into this would be great...and give me a lot more confidence as bathing suit season approaches!
I always shave. BUT, (haha) I recently noticed that the hair there has almost all disappeared since I started Yasmin! It's much finer and lighter all over now.
Regarding abdomen hair- I spent years hating that area because of the coarse hair. When I shaved, it was so obvious. About 5 months ago I started epilating my lower abdomen and inner thighs, and they look wonderful now. I barely even think about them until it's time to epilate again (every few weeks). Also, that hair seems much lighter now when it does grow in, and there are no red bumps or other signs of hair growth. I'd recommend epilating to anyone!

Thanks to both of you...when I'm next in the US I'll have to stop by a Walgreen's, I guess Nice to know there's a product out there that gets such thumbs up from PCOS gals!
And "epilate"; is that with an epilator? Like, on the infomercials? Maybe I just live in a bubble, but I've never seen 'em around! Off to Google those, too! Thanks again!

The simple answer is, "Nothing." I shave my face, but that's it. DH is quite emphatic that he doesn't mind the hair elsewhere and insists that most men don't mind it either. He reckons that most guys would rather know what's there naturally, anyway.
I started waxing my backside and its the best thing I've ever done for myself. The hair come in softer and I don't cringe when my DH touches my bottom anymore!

Yeah, the epilator. I'd never heard of them either until I saw threads on them here. Search "epilator" and TONS of info will come up. I got mine on amazon.com for $20 bucks- it's a "mini" one that covers a smaller surface area, but it's perfect for my tummy.

I used the Magic stuff on my bum areas and it worked wonders. It actually took quite a while for it to grow back and I swear it was a lot less coarse and disgusting when it did.
For $1.75 or whatever it cost, it was SO worth it.
