Default Haiti or Ethiopia adoptions, anyone?

We're still looking into domestic adoption, but are also looking at Haiti & Ethiopia. Anyone have any experience?

Check out God's littlest Angels website. They are based in Haiti.

They're not accepting any new applications right now. Thanks though

Ethiopia is a good program but wait times are getting longer as more and more people choose to adopt from that country (think China). Haitit is not being recommended by any of the agencies I know of right now because of the extreme wait time. Of course this is all from a Canadian perspective, so if you're in the US your agencies could have an entirely different story. Make sure you ask lots and lots of questions!

A friend has been in the process of adopting a little girl from Haiti for over 2 years now. The problem is that each time a new government takes over (which happens quite a bit), the adoption process has to be restarted. The red tape and delays has been unbelievable. Now supposedly the Haitian government prefers that the child is adopted by the age of 3 because of language development etc, so my friends are hoping that they will finally get all the paperwork approved in the next six months or so.
