I want to know now why I never got a letter about the clinic (?). If Eirenay hadn't posted about the clinic closing, I still wouldn't know about it!

Eirenay: Oh gosh, I just saw your siggie. I am so sorry. I'm pretty much at the same point, too, if the IVF doesn't work.

Loopy: Oh, that's too funny! Too bad I didn't read that post until now. If you saw me in the waiting room, I was the out-of-breath lady (I jog/walk 2 miles from downtown to get there). Where are you at with the monitoring? I have ER on Sunday!

Well apparently I can't send PM's because I don't have enough posts so, one hit - Thanks so much, but I'll have to pass.

Yesterday I had 5 follicles, (13,11,11,12,11mm in size), my lining was 12C. I won't know my E2 until Sunday when I go in, because they never called to change my dose. My E2 from Wed was 1284 (I had no follicles that day) so they said my ovaries were just lagging behind.
I go back in tomorrow - and hope all is going well!

Good luck with your ER tomorrow! And no jogging into the clinic that day I hope! haha

P.s - I got my letter a few weeks back.

One Hit- Good luck with your egg retrieval!

Loopy -- hopefully your eggies grow.

I got a letter from the nurse and then about a week later one came directly from the CEO of the hospital, via registered mail. It was a cold and nasty toned letter. I wasn't very impressed. But at least the doctors are looking to open up somewhere else. I can't imagine all those patients just melding into existing clinics, that's a lot of people.

3rd failed IUI for us. Not handling it well emotionally, unfortunately. We just don't have the $$$ to throw at it anymore (we put my master's degree on hold for this). Doc had told us that after 3 they usually recommend IVF, but that is not an option for us. So now we don't know what we're going to do. We would like to foster, but living in an apartment is not conducive for that. So we're sorta stuck, with no plan, which I hate.

And if one more person says to us "You just need to wait on God's timing" I'm going to hit them...

On an upside, DH said he would take me away this winter for a vacay. Yahoo!

Hi Girls!

I live in the falls and we have been going to Westend Fertility Clinic since Feb 08. I received my letter a couple of weeks ago and cried my eyes out on the floor. Dh was just diagnosed with 0& morphology and they said our only option will be IVFwithICSI. We have 5 months till they close down!. How can they do this. We just started to ge tth ball rolling. I just started to O'd on my own and then we get the letter. Then they cancel my DHs appt with Dr. Fisher and post phoned it to a month later!. We go back to see my Doctor On OCt 7 and DH does anotehr SA and we get to see the results from that. Im hoping his morph count goes up and we can try for IUI. Oh girls....what do we do?!?!?!?!. Should i ask them when we are there?

Eirenay: Oh, I know how ya feel. I'm in grad school right now, and money is getting tight because of this TTC business. It also wears on my emotions, and interferes with my schoolwork.
I'm so sorry you're feeling stuck - this is all so unfair.
My IVF didn't go that well. Most of my embies died, so we were left with three that were so-so. We transferred 2 and froze 1, and we found out that DH has a huge sperm problem, and really he has the infertility, not me. What a huge blow after 6 years of TTC.
Oh, and I'll gang up with you, too, on the "God's timing" thing!!! Grrr!

Andrea: Ooooooh, that double whammy of mf SUCKS (read my above post about that!). I would definitely talk to the doctor about the clinic closing. (Which one is assigned to you?) But maybe don't worry too much about it yet (I know, MUCH easier said than done) - the doctors are opening up a private practice, so they're looking for property in Hamilton and Burlington. Burlington would be farther to travel, of course, but at least you wouldn't have to find a different doctor. Hope that helps somewhat.

What Doc do you see??...Dr. Hughes?!. So you did IVF through the clinic?!?!. And you test on Oct 8?!. One more week to go hun!. Ill be praying for you. Can you tell me exactly how much the IVF is and can you make like monthly payments?!. I know that must sound crazy. We are going to be starting IUI soon and im wondering how much that is going to be also

One hit - Here's hoping that the eggs you transferred clamp on nice and firm. I know you had said that DH has low motility, is it even worse than that? Are they offering suggestions as to the cause of his issues, or remedies?

DH and I are taking this month off of everything. We're not telling anyone what is going on, not even our families (who have for the most part been in the loop). Come October, we'll start seriously discussing a plan. At this point so much is up in the air (not just the TTC thing, but just life in general). So we figure we'll discuss a plan through October and then have family pow-wows with each of our families.

Andrea -- Welcome. Good luck at the clinic. Dr. Faghih and Dr. Amin are great, you're in good hands.

Eirenay: Thank you - I sure hope so, too. DH has low motility, and now his morphology is abysmal, too. The lab said they had a hard time finding normal sperm. So I guess I'll have to make an appointment to go in and talk about it. Maybe we'll get a referral to a urologist? I don't know - we were planning to be done TTC'ing after this IVF.
I hope the break is refreshing for you, and that your families can help!

wishin: I don't think they'll leave you hanging. As I said, the 4 docs are planning to open a private practice (here's hoping it's in Hamilton!!!), so maybe you can just stay with them? I think there's another IF clinic in Hamilton, called HART, but I'm not sure about that. Bring it up at your appointment - I know they will be happy to discuss it with you.
I see Dr. Karnis, but I've had all 4 of them for appointments and procedures, and they're all amazing. I had Drs. Faghih and Amin for my embie transfer last week, and they are so lovely and kind. One of them (don't remember which), when it was over, made a point of hugging my leg and wishing me luck. (Sounds awkward since my legs were in stirrups - lol - but the gesture was very comforting.) Dr. Hughes is verrrrrry laidback - he has all the time in the world for patients, and will even come in to the examining room to chat with me sometimes because he says he has nothing else to do. Haha. And Dr. Karnis is friendly and thorough - DH prefers and likes her (and he hates doctors).
IVF was all through the clinic. The procedure itself, including ICSI, costs $6500 (so it's $1500 less, I think, if you don't need ICSI). The meds in total cost me around $1600, but that was low because I stimmed for only 8 days. Then the Crinone supplements for the 2ww were $500 (but you can get a cheaper kind for around 200-300 bucks). We froze an embie, so that was another $750. I think that was it.
IUI is a lot cheaper, of course. I stimmed for 18 days, which was LONG. I think the meds were around $900, and the IUI was $350 (I think that's right?).
Thank you for the prayers- I REALLY appreciate that.

Ok Girls i talked to Dr. Faghih today and most DEF the 4 doctors they are opening there own Private practice. they will be opening it in April ( I forgot to get the location )...

Ok well we had our Dr's appt today and got Dhs SA back. First off she wanted to talk about the surgery I had. She siad she was very pleased with how healthy my uterus was and yes a little abnormally shaped but she siad there was no reason why i wouldnt be able to carry a baby to full term. Now on to Dh's SA......................so last SA Dh's morphology came back at 0% ( shaped of sperm) ) % will NOT ferilize a egg.....so todays morphology came back at 3 %....and normal percent is 4%.....everythin else looked good other then the fact his count was a little low but that because we BD 2 nights in row. I told her that and she said oh yes that would do it. So she then gave me the great news......WE STARTING IUI next cycle. I tiake clomid cd 2-7 and will have an
u/s on cd 10 and everyday until they see a mature egg ready to be released then they give me the HCG shot and inseminate me with DHS sperm....... Im super HAPPY!.

As for o'd yet well my OPK today is - but my temp has yet to go up.....so it better tomorrow if it doesnt then im sure my body is all screwy again. I told her about the met and how it regulates me and also how i was on the fertilaid. She was happy to hear everything was coming together smoothly.....she did tell me i need to stop the fertilaid ASAP cause of the starting the clomid....that sucks but im ok with it. I guess the FertilAid really does work for DH!...........

Wishin: Sorry, simulpost! Thanks again for the congrats! Yes, I did IVF; it was my first one.
Good news for you - that is so great about your DH's s/a! That really helps to relieve the pressure. Best wishes for this cycle!
I'm so happy to hear that the docs are definitely opening their own practice - I hope they stay in Hamilton.

One hit...Congrats on the BFP!

I'm in my 2ww... I'm currently 7dp3dt, and my beta is next Tuesday. I've been POAS'ing - and no positive's yet. When did you get your first BFP? I'm hoping I still have some hope.
