Today, my little sister Kathy would have turned 35. She was killed when she was 8 years old. We (my older sister Lisa (13) and I (11) and Kathy (8) were waiting beside the road for the schoolbus back in November 1979 when a car slid on black ice and ran into us, landing on top of my two sisters and throwing me across the road. Kathy was too small to survive when every bone in her body (practically) was broken.
I've always counted Kathy as one of my guardian angels.
So happy birthday Kathy! I miss you and think about you every day.

Get involved in animal rescue. You won't be sorry. Your heart may break, there may be times when your eyes are red-rimmed for days. You may lose faith in the goodness of people, but your spirit will be renewed by the resilience of those you save. It isn't easy, but it's worth it. I promise you, you will be forever changed.
What a terrible memory! Happy Birthday Kathy and smile down on your sister, sounds like she could use it!!
