Well dear cysters! It has been 3 years since we had to say goodbye to our precious Kenny and Katie!
The pain certainly does lessen as time goes by, but a scar remains in my heart. The healing continues, but it is much more subtle now. I used to go to the cemetary every week and I just couldn't understand how other parents of babies buried there didn't do the same. Now I do understand, in fact, I am now one of those parents that doesn't go to the cemetary, but just a few times a year. It just hurts so much.
We did go to the cemetary yesterday to clean up their headstone and we were surpised to find that somebody had left a stuffed animal for them. We aren't sure who left it there, but how it touches my heart to know that other people remember them too! It was the first time that we brought Konnie to the cemetary since she learned to walk. It sure was a surreal feeling have their little sister there and how she wanted to pick up the stuffed animal so much. We always planned on telling our children about their older siblings in Heaven, but it is so close to reality now, and it is hard to know what to say. I am sure it will come to me as each occasion arises. But it just feels so tender of a subject right now, that I feel so speechless as to what I would tell Konnie.
Having to say goodbye to my precious babies way too soon, was the worst thing that I have ever been through. But I do believe that it also makes my precious Konnie's life all the sweeter! Kenny and Katie have changed my life for the better, and for that I will always be grateful.
This morning we are having a brunch in their memory as we do every Christmas Eve morning. Then we will head to the cemetary to bring them some balloons and release some to Heaven. My nieces draw pictures and tie them to the balloons. I think I will let Konnie scribble a little picture for them too! Gotta remember to bring my camera!!

awh. Thank you for sharing that heartfelt post with us. I love how you deal with it all. You are a very sweet and loving mother and all your children are blessed to be able to call you their mother. Bless you this Holiday season (which must be extra rough on you) and always. You have a good heart and a Happy Birthday to your babies.

Happy Birthday little ones.... I am glad their day went the way you had planned..I am positive Kennie and Katie are with you on this special day and throughout the year... I just love you guys! The holidays have been great!! Konnie is the best distraction!! I think the holidays will get easier every year now as her joy helps heal my heart!
