Default Has anyone conceived in a really long cycle?

Well, it's been nearly three months, no ovulation and no AF. Have any of you conceived in a cycle as long as this (or longer)? I was just wondering if the lining of the uterus somehow becomes too old and if I should ovulate sometime in the near future maybe a possible fertilized egg won't implant because of that? Maybe a crazy thought, but I guess that's normal when one has a body that won't cooperate.

You could check out fertility friend's chart gallery. They have women who have gotten preggers on like cd 100 ect. I think ideally we get a period more often than that, but pregnacy and ovulation are not impossible that late in the game!

Have you considered see a doc to get the ball rolling?

I have an appointment in October, and I hope to start with clomid soon after that. I'm wondering because I have a prescription for Primolut, to get a period, but I got that prescription before we suspected PCOS and now I don't know if there's any point in taking it because I'm thinking it won't make me ovulate anyway when I have PCOS. But then I was thinking that maybe I really should take it. because if I do ovulate then it might be easier for the egg to implant if the lining of the uterus isn't too old. I really have no idea, I'm really just trying to do the best I can to get pregnant.

Some women do, but you generally don't want to wait too long on a cycle. It's not good to go more than 2 months without AF because of the increased risk of endometrial cancer, and also there is the question of egg quality... which is completely debatable, but worth considering.

I know that I did concieve on a long cycle the first time- I didn't Ov until CD44 that time. Many women do concieve on long cycles... but I would recommend bringing on a new cycle before starting any ovulation medication. You want optimal lining just in case... and three months is a long time for the body to go without shedding the lining.

Best wishes.

My 3 year old DD was conceived during a long cycle. It was the first cycle off BCPs with my period in mid July and a positive pg test in late October (but we weren't trying so I was a few weeks in already). She was conceived sometime in mid-late September, so probably cd 80 or so.

I was also wondering about the same question. Would you conceive if you ovulate later than d14/d16(ideal case).. I am charting BBT for the last 2 cycles and I do see Egg white CM. Assuming I do ovulate would I be able to conceive. I never get positive result with OPK. May be I dont know right time to do the test.. I randomly do it when I see egg white CM.

Help!

cervical mucous is not always an accurate predictor of ovulation, and my understanding of the period situation is you should never go more than three months without a period, due to an increase in endometrial cancer.
