Default Has anyone else done the Lupron shot to reset cycles??

Hey everyone, well after trying the nuvaring and it failing horribly my doctor felt like I am running out of options. His fear is that he can try me on the depo patch but there are no gaurentees i wont have side effects as i have had with the nuva ring and reg BCP. I was just curious if any of you ladies have done the lupron shot and then went on to BC sucessfully. My doc thinks if my body has a fresh start it should take on all the hormones better. What do you guys think and tell me all your experiences please!!

Rachel.

I took lupron prior to an IVF treatment. Idea was to totally control the cycle... which worked...

That stuff made me the most physcho a person could get. I remember being at work and someone was filing next to me... and I started getting really ticked off just listening to the drawers open and close... Get ready... it can be that bad... PMS to the nth degree!

Probably worth a shot...

I'm not an expert on this stuff.. Do some more research... 'cause basically luprin stops your periods... and the way it was explained to me, is that it kind of creates a faux menopause... I'm not an extremely moody person with my cycle... all I can say is that this stuff took me over the edge, and I'm glad it was only a 2 week thing.. 'cause I was a CRAZY person... really really angry, pretty much most of the time. I remember telling my husband, as he was out of town, that he was REALLY LUCKY he was out of town... he might not have made it through the night... LOL!

LOL thats horrible!! Yes, that is what the doctor told me I will be experiencing menopause (well induced/fake menopause.) Dont get me wrong im not a raging B**** but i have my moments with the ups and downs of my hormones. Unfortenetly if i do the lupron shot it will be for AT LEAST three months, six months if i choose. I just hope DBF understands that its not my fault if i get a little out of control lol..

I would explain to DBF that you need to take this short term... and that it's KNOWN for causing extreme mood swings... That although he doesn't need to walk on egg shells that he should take it into consideration not only when noticing your mood but also not to INSTIGATE your mood. So, things like poking fun... will not likely be taken well... etc.

And, it's probably important for you to remind yourself that your moods are induced by the drug. So, as you notice yourself getting really ticked off (that was me) or really emotional that YOU really remind yourself of the enhanced emotion... Time for some MEDITATION or something...

Oh, in fact, I've used some meditation CD's that are really directed at women who have cylce issues. Etc...

http://www.anjionline.com

She has such a calming voice... I used her CD's when I was trying to get PG. And every time I would feel stressed out, I would just listen... it had a wonderful calming effect... Download it to an ipod!

Best!

That is awesome..Thank you so so very much!!!! That is exactly what i will do, and hopefully the three months of mood swings will be worth me being able to take a BC sucessfully and eventually gaining cycle control to TTC. You have been very helpful and I appreciate it a lot!!
