Default has anyone else had this experience?

I have been having problems getting my thyriod equalled out again after a newbie dr misread a test about a year ago. My dr has been upping my dose until recently it came back high. She lowered me back to the previous dose and I felt worse than before! She said that I may be one of those who need a little bit extra to feel good. I've had Hashimoto's since ds2 was born in 1991 and my thyroid was attacked by toxins released when my appendix ruptured when I was 30 wks pregnant. This is the first time I've felt better about my thyroid issues in a while. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have always felt better when my thyroid was a bit/borderline high. At first my doc was a bit nervous about it being a little to high but then later said that it was fine and it shouldnt hurt me as long as I feel good. When I get older (like 40's-50's) is more when you have to be careful about not letting it get to high because it can lead to other problems. But I think your body tells you whats best for you and if you feel better when its a bit high then thats what you need. Blood test are also not always perfectly acurate.

I too feel better when I'm borderlined or high. Like catJ said, my doctor too said it was ok as long as I felt ok. I hate when doctors say my meds are ok when I'm on the low side, even though I'm in the "normal range".
Grrrrr to doctors that don't understand!!

Good Luck!
