Has anyone else's met changed?

I've been taking met (850mg) since Dec. The first 2 months the pills looked the same. Feb. they changed, there was a little label on my bottle explaining that they had changed in size, but they were the same medication. This month they have changed again! But no label this time. I have never had any bad side effects with met, until this month. I was just wondering if anyone else's had changed.

Mine haven't changed, but I am on 500 mg (3 a day)

You know ... now that I think about it, I have had MUCH more gi problems this month and I had also noticed my pills had changed this month.
Today, at my RE visit, he changed me to 500mg 3x a day instead of my 850mg 2x a day. So, not sure what will happen now!!!

Check if the new one is generic or the brand name.

I was on 3 x 500 mg glucophage for 6 months, and the side effects were very bad for a few weeks. In December I was upped to 2 x 850, and went with the generic, since they didn't have the brand name. The side effects were terrible for about a week. Took those for 3 months.

I just got a refill, and they ordered the brand name glucophage for me. With this pill switch I felt completely fine. I was actually surprised to not have to take a day in bed because of the change.

Just a thought, but my husband works for a pharmaceutical company and he takes glucaphage for his diabetes. I take it for PCOS but our pills are different shapes, (mine round, his oblonged). Anyway, his take on the difference is that because the med is available in generic form there are different manufacturers of the pill itself. So its possible that the pharmacy you go to changed manufacturers on you but it is still the same pill.

(ps. He never had any GI problems with his glucaphage where as I suffered like crazy, again his take is that the different manufacturers used different "fillers" which may react different in people, I just wanted him to suffer one day so he would stop making fun of me as I ran to the bathroom.)
