Default Has anyone ever tried the soy products?

What are the soy products like? EG soy milk, ice cream, cheese, etc.

Also, are there any good faux 'meats' out there?

I live in the UK and some of the brands might not be available over here. I remember how good gardenburgers were when I lived in Texas, but I haven't seen them over here.

i havent eaten red meat since 1999. and i barely eat chicken or turkey, mostly i eat fish and soy products. now when i first started with them they were ok but now they are much much better. try Morning Star or Boca. there is also the cheese, mlik and ice cream...these i dont eat on the regular but they arent bad either. the only one that i dont care much for is the milk. its too thin and sweet for me. both morning star and boca make breakfast links, pizza, bacon, italian sauages(which i just had for lunch), chicken, chicken nuggets, veggie crumbles(kinda like ground beef), meat balls, and burgers in varying flavors. boca makes a good cheesburger and morning star makes a couple of flavored ones that are tasty too. u have to go in expecting it to be trial and error. what i love u might not. gardenburger makes meatloaf, meat balls, spare ribs, and varying burgers of course. their line has gotten better but i still favor boca and morning start over gardenburger.
hope that helped

Please be careful with the quantity of soy you consume. Soy interferes with the functioning of the thyroid gland. For more info, search on goitrogen.

Don't know if you can get these in the UK (I have my parents ship them or bring them to me) but you should try Worthington or Loma Linda. I don't know if they have a web-site but they make the BEST meat substitutes. All of my German friends tried them and now they can't get enough of them. We have access to Morningstar and Boca here too but there just isn't any comparison. If you aren't able to find information about them, find a Seventh-day Adventist Church in the UK and ask a member if they know where you might be able to get them. Most SDA's know about the food since these two companies are/or were Adventist owned operations - but then in the UK I'm not sure. Maybe they don't. But be careful how much you eat. Soy isn't always the best thing for the Thyroid and meat substitutes often have higher salt content to add flavor.
