Default Has anyone experienced this?

Ok this is gross, but I'm not sure what to think. Let me give a little history before I ask my question. I am 26 years old and recently diagnosed with PCO after several years of misdiagnosis. I had surgery 4 years ago to clean out palyps. They told me they would grow back and I believe they have. One month ago, after having a continuous period for almost 2 months, I was prescribed birth control. I was told to take 4 pills a day until the period stopped, then 3 pills a day for a wk, 2 for a wk, and then 1 until I ran out. I was on Seasonal which is the kind that you take for 3 months and then have a period. I still have 1 month left, but 4 days ago, I started my period. I called the Dr who said that sometimes this happens and I should stop taking the bc for 5 days, then start taking it again and if this doesn't stop the period then call her back. Ok, all of that info to say that my period this time has been very rough and very heavy. A few moments ago, I went to the restroom and discovered that instead of blood, I have passed some type of tissue. At least I think it is tissue it is very thick, not liquidy at all, red, but not the normal color, and there was a lot of it, probably a chunk about the size of 2 tablespoons, all connected. This is totaly freaking me out as I have never experienced anything like this before. Should I be conserned? has anyone else experienced this?

was it almost blackish red???

it sounds like a blood clot... meaning passing a clot... i have had those when i have had very heavy periods and its scary sometimes..but it sounds to me this happened bc its been a while since you ahd a period and you had a big build up of uterine lining...

i would call the dr and let them know though, just in case xo jenn

Ok thanks so much for the info. It has been only 5 wks since my last period which was 7 wks long. Because it was so long, I was bleeding down to a dangerous level, leaving no lining. That's why I'm concerened. This was so large, I have never experienced something this large before and I don't think I've had time to build up that mcuh of a lining, but then again, I'm definately not a Dr. I will call first thing in the morning. Thank you again for the info.

Something else to keep in mind...

With polyps or fibroids, you can bleed and it not be a period.
A fibroid has it's own blood supply. When they burst, leak or rupture you can see alot of blood. These are also the typical reason found for women with non stop bleeds. If you can not control it with the pills, they need to go in, find the culprit andcarterize it to stop the bleeding.

In the old days, this was the #1 reasons women had hysterectomys. Because if the bleeding wouln't stop, a woman could bled to death. Many women got drawn into having it removed with out know there are now other treatments available.

As for the clots you are now seeing, that is typical for andeomyosis and/or tilted(reverted)uteris. The blood "pools" in the uteris and then when you stand or move around a lot, finally will pass. I had these during each and every period. When I would ask about it, the doctors would just look at me funny. Never offering any explaination. I found all this online during my searches for my own issues.

I also self dx my endometreosis. I found a GYN surgern, made the appt and when we talked, I told him "My other dr suggested it was endo" He never questioned that other dr's dx. But had I told him "I" found it, I would have been dismissed for sure.

I hope this helps.
