Default Has anyone found a fiber suppliment helps w/ "side effects"?

Something I realized when I went off the Met. recently was I'd forgotten...this is just TMI, BUT, what it was like to have a normal BM. I was having IBS type symtpoms of const./diar. because I'd clogged myself up so many times with Immodium the past 2 years. So, I found a great fiber suppliment where I purchased my Natural Progesterone Cream, it's called LOCOL and it has a mix of soluable and insoluable fiber and actually tastes good--like apples, and it's sweetened only with Stevia. So far, so good, with that.

Since it's only been a few days since I started the small dose of Met. I can't tell a difference. But I'm wondering if anyone else was able to change their GI effects with fiber?

TIA!

Good question- I am confused on this as well. I figured because of the "loose bowels" side effects that one should cut out the extra fibre. But now, from what I am reading, extra fibre can help IBS and therefore I assume, the nasty side effect of Met. Help!

I have read that you should not take fiber supplements within four hours of taking Met. Here is a little blurb about that:

Diabetes Medications
While fiber supplements may help to regulate blood sugar levels, they may also interfere with the absorption of anti-diabetic medications, specifically glyburide and metformin. Therefore, fiber supplements should not be taken at the same time as this medication.
