Has anyone had to have 2 D&C's from the same pg?

My OB mentioned even before my D&C that I might have to have a 2nd one and now it's looking like I might have to....

The pathologist report came and and even though there was alot of tissue he said there wasn't much pg hormone. He said that I will get b/w done on the 24th @ my follow-up appt and then we'll go from there but I'm so afraid that I'll have to get a second one done......

This just isn't fair and it's getting worse before it even gets better when I thought it couldn't get any worse....

Traci, I lived this nightmare back in May. Had a blighted ovum, so we did a D&C b/c my body would not miscarry on its own. One week later I get a call from the RE...no fetal tissue found in path report. So we did a blood test...hcg was still sky high. Went in the next day for an u/s...and not only was the sac still intact, but now there was a fetal pole, yolk sac and possible h/b. What kind of sick, cruel joke could this be?!?! After a week of intense hell, the next u/s showed again an empty sac. So we did a second D&C, this time with ultrasound guidance, and the RE was able to remove most everything. He missed it the first time b/c I have a very deep uterus and the baby was implanted at the very back. He was afraid he would perforate my uterus without u/s guidance.

Even with the 2 D&C's, I still had about 5 days of bleeding and intense cramping as my body passed the remaining tissue. I required narcotics to control the pain. I finally passed a larger piece of tissue (don't even want to know what it was) and the cramping and bleeding stopped immediately.

Miscarriage sucks and is so unfair under any circumstances. Add in complications like yours and mine, and it's even harder to bear. I am so sorry you are having to go through this. My prayers are with you. (((HUGS)))

Thanks Angela for your experience. At least I know I'm not a total freak of nature... He could have missed some b/c there was alot of tissue in there b/c of the 4 sacs. The thing that stinks is that I have to wait to see him until 9/24 so I have to wait and wait to find out what's going on.... I've been taking Vicodin and Naproxen but I hate taking pain pills b/c I was on them for almost a full year after a car accident in 1997. I hated how they made me feel and I don't want to feel like that ever again. Sometimes I just need to take them though... I have a retroverted uterus and my OB has never actually examined me so he doesn't know the exact position and all. He was just going by my files and u/s's from my RE mainly to see where everything was. I bet if I have to have another one that he'll do u/s too to make sure he gets everything. He feels so bad that this is still on going...
