If it is like Mircette... I was on Alesse which is similar in that it it low estrogen. Generlly it seems lower estrogen pills don't have the pack-on-the-pounds effect of higher estrogen pills. In my case, I was able to lose weight taking Alesse and Glucophage. Low dose pills don't so much allow you to lose weight as they don't make you hold on to weight... the gluc is what helped with weight loss. Alesse also had no negative mood effects, which is my usual problem with BCPs... it also really helped with my hair issues, but loss and excess. Unfortunately I had a lot of breakthrough bleeding that didn't stop even after 3 months of the pill so I gave up on Alesse.
A lower dose pill is worth a shot though. not everyonbe has the break through bleeding problem.

"We've tried to wash our hands of all of this
We never talk of our lacking relationships
And how we're guilt-stricken, sobbing, with our heads on the floor
We fell through the ice when we tried not to slip..."
