Default has anyone heard of lexapro?

Has anyone taken lexapro for depression and if so what were your experiences. I just got the prescription and my doc said it was like Celexa without the side affects.
Any insight would be helpful
THanks

I have been taking it for 2 months now. It is EXACTLY Celexa without the side effects. I used to get bad tummy aches with Celexa. I have had no side effects with Lexapro. Hope that helped!

I've been taking Lexapro ever since it went on the market. I never took Celexa so I can't compare, but I don't notice any side effects from the Lexapro. Unfortunatley for me, it seems to have stopped working for my depression. But that seems to happen to me with all meds.

I take Lexapro and love it. I have tried Paxil (weight gain), Wellbutrin (depression got even worse!). I haven't had any side effects and love it, as does dh

Hope that helps

Default Just Started Taking....

I just started taking lexapro last week for my depression.... because I have no health insurance my doctor couldn't put me on Effexor like she was going to origionally because of reactions I've had to SSRI's in the past (extreme fatigue and a worsening of most of my symptoms and extremely bad anxiety attacks) Since my first round on an anti depressant i've found out that I am mildly bipolar or also known of as a soft manic depressive.... I do well usually with out any medications at all but occationally find my depressions to be much much more extreme then my manic phases... my manic phases to most just seem like i'm in a really really good mood....
