Default Has anyone noticed??

I've only worked my way up to 1000mg daily! This is my 6th day on metfomin but I have noticed I am not as hungry all the time. I use to get really hungry about an hour or so after a meal and that has completely gone! It’s really nice to be able to eat and not have to eat an hour later! Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes!!!! Absolutely. My appetite wouldn't stop pre-Met. I feel like now, I have the appetite of a "normal" person. I've been on Met for about 5 months now. I'm not sure about this, but I think the high insulin levels make you really hungry, Met helps get your insulin levels in check, hence less hunger.

Me too! Me too! I have noticed a definate decrease in appetite. High levels of insulin make your body think it is starving. As a result, you are always hungry and your body tries to store all of the calories it can as fat...no wonder us IR cysters have such a hard time managing a healthy weight!!!

I am now eating like a "normal" person insead of a "Survivor" reject and I have lost 15 lbs over the last 3 months without exercise or extreme dieting...just reducing my carbs!

I love my Met!

I'm a thin cyster with normal GTT results who is self medicating with 250 mg 2X daily because I still think I'm IR because of GTT results 2 years ago when I was 30 lbs heavier. On the earlier GTT results I was high-normal between hours 1 and 2 and high between 2 and 3. Even though my labs from June were normal I still felt that fogginess after meals. I've been on met 1 week and in that week I've noticed that I have better concentration after meals and I don't need to eat as often as I did before. I'm hoping that will be enough to get me a legitimate met prescription from my endo!

Default yes

i'm really not sue if its the met alone or lowcarbing and met but i really have to monitior what and when i last ate. i noticed though carbs do seem to have a stimulant effect on my appetite but since I did both at once due to carb induced diarrea i cant say if its the met alone or the ketosis i wonder who is eating moderate carbs and still getting the appetitie suppression. mine seems extereme especially for me..i'm a hard case of constant eating and constant hypogycemia not low carbing.
