Hi, Mellie. I've taken Ovidrel my last two cycles. It's nothing at all to worry about--really! Also known as a trigger shot, it's just a mega-dose of HCG (the pregnancy hormone) which, when administered to women with mature follicles (they usually like them to be 20mm or larger), causes ovulation to occur within about 36 hours. It's a really thin, short needle, and you give it subcutaneously (which means just below the skin, as opposed to intramuscularly which hurts a lot more!). The first time I took it, I had some really mild early pregnancy symptoms (which makes sense) for about a week (it takes about a week to get out of your system, which means that you will test falsely positive on an HPT). This cycle, however, the only symptom I've had is a little mild bloating. HTH and let me know if I can answer anything else about it. GL to you!
I took Ovidrel as an hcg trigger. The only side effect was DS! It was freaky giving myself a shot but once I did it, I realized it was no big deal. It didn't even hurt. HTH.

Hi, Chrissy and welcome to SoulCysters! You'll find worlds of information and support on here. At least one other person (if not many) has experienced the same thing as you or knows what to do about it or whatever. You'll probably never find yourself completely alone in anything!
To answer your question: Hope That Helps, Darling Husband, Darling Son. There are a TON of abbreviations used on the boards, but you'll get the hang of it very quickly. Here's a great place to go to start studying up: Updated!!! Abbreviations For Newbies:).
HTH and gl! (See--you're already getting the hang of it!)
