Question Has anyone taken Provera??

Hi everyone!! it's been a long time since i've posted a message.

i have very irregular periods and for a while i was taking metformin and my periods were regular and then they stopped again. the last period i had was may 29th of '03. i was still taking metformin but i guess i was immune to it and my period never came. i was enjoying not having my period but i knew deep down that it was good for me so i went to the doctor again and this time the doctor gave me provera (think the generic name is medroxyprogesterone) i don't know exactly which is the generic name but anyways, my question is has anyone taken this medication? and if so were your periods regular and were you able to conceive afterwards??

thanks

Provera jump-starts your period once. Usually it will not change your cycle after taking it-- if you didn't get periods before, you probably still won't get them afterwards (though sometimes it happens). If you're anovulatory, Provera alone is probably not going to help you conceive (though you will get used to taking it if you're ttc, since many of the things you take to ttc require you to have your period first).

What dose of met are you on?

I'm taking provera now and it won't help you in ttc. Nicole is right, you must have a period if you are ttc. If you have more questions I'll be glad to help if I can!! BABY DUST TO YOU!!
