I recently started Duac gel (Benzoyl Peroxide and Clindamycin) just to use until I get pregnant as my skin is a nightmare off the pill). Anyway, I used it 3 nights in a row, and my skin is red (like a sunburn) and irritated ( a little itchy). I've read that this goes away in time, but I'm not sure if I should stay on it. Has anyone had this experience with it?

my doctor gave me a sample of this just today.. although, I am already using BenzaClin which is a combination of the exact same medicines... She just said to try this one and see which one I like better.
I can tell you... I have used the BenzaClin for about a year now... on my t-zone only and had to build up slowly... started using it as just a spot treatment on pimples first and then gradually began using it over the whole t-zone..
My skin is the most clear it has ever been in my life. I have not had a cystic acne flair up in months... This stuff in combination with the Retin A has changed my skin completely...
If the Duac gel is too irritating, ask your doctor for the BenzaClin... it is the exact same meds but it is a more lotion like consistancy. ... Build up your usage slowly...
Thanks. I used it 3 nights in a row, and now my skin is completely peeling off for the past few days. I haven't used it since the weekend, but once it's done peeling, I may try to mix it with some oil free moisturizer and do it every other night, and build up to every day as you suggested.
Thanks again!

I used to use it, the key is to wash your face (dont ever ever use it at the same time as retin-a, several hours after putting it on and washing your skin thouroughly..cuz itll make your skin bright redand peel..allergic reaction) it works great, but it has got to be the most drying out of everything except sulfur, but it works the best.. apply a very thing layer all over your face, dont put on enough so you can see any white film or spots once its dry ..very very thin, and put them over active pimples, however never cake it on and put it on thick or itll burn your skin. Also..do not mix it with a moisturizer or it wont work. IT has to be the first thing onyour skin and must dry completely before putting something over it...like 5-10 minutes at least after, put a non medicated, oil free nice moisturizer with soothers like aloe, vitamin e, vitamin c, allantoin, bisobolo, squalane, sodium pca, hyaluronic acid, etc..that will be the key to not killing your skin with the stuff, but itll still work as long as you odnt mix them and let it dry first. Good luck.
Yes, I tried Duac and Differin gels and now have a beautifully clear face. When I started, I also had the red, flaky skin but it cleared after the first week by using Duac for a week and slowly introducing Differin.
My Dermo also suggested I only wash my face with the Purpose Brand soap because it doesn't dry out your face like regular soap. I love it!
Good luck!
