Has Anyone Tried Proactive Solution? Or anything that has worked!
Has anyone tried proactive?
I am curious and intrigued by the infomercials that I have been inundated with during my recent bouts of insomnia. During my teenage years when most people experience acne I was clear faced and never really had to put much thought into my skin care routine. Now at the age of 23 my skin is the worst it has ever been and nothing seems to help.
The worst areas are my chin and cheek bones. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong with my skin. I'm getting nasty pimples and the big inflamed underground raised bumps that just do go away very easily.
I am so embarrassed by my skin that I don't even like to go out anymore, I need Help!
I have been using it and have seen a difference. I can't say my skin is completely clear, because I have times when I break out, but I can definately see a difference. It took almost 2 months for me to see a difference though. I was glad there was a 60 day guarantee. I got discouraged after it didn't work the first 3-4 weeks, but stuck with it and I was glad I did. Everyone started noticing. Even though I am going through a bad breakout stage right now, my mom told me that it wasn't nearly as bad as ahe has seen it before. It is worth a try, in my opinion.
I'm 27 now and I have had problems with severe acne since purberty. I have had time periods where it would get better, but it has always bothered me. I get the big bumps too, and the blackheads and pimples too. I totally understand what you are going through. It is so frustrating isn't it?
I loved Proactive so much that I must have recommended it to at least four of my friends when they asked me how I cleared my skin up. I'm sure it worked best in combination with my medication, but it really was the only thing that worked for me...and I tried it all! Even Accutane. I still think Proactive is great though now i only use it when i have a breakout.
The infomecial was what made me buy it as well - when Judith Light was the spokesperson...I don't know what it was about her, but I just trusted her for some reason lol

I tried Proactive a few years back, and I had really harsh side effects from it. I've never been "sensitive" as far as facial care goes... so I was really shocked.
I experienced excessive drying and some burning...
Moral of Story: Test the product, and if you don't like it, use the guarantee - and get your money back!

When I fall in love I take my time,
There's no need to hurry when I'm making up my mind.
You can turn off the sun but I'm still gonna shine...
My acne was so bad for about 10 years I thought I was going to be a star trek character for life. I ended up taking Roaccutane. It is not to be used lightly, and you can only get it from a dermatologist after you have had a pregnancy test and signed an agreement to maintain 2 kinds of contraceptives to prevent pregnancy, it is that prone to causing birth defects. You have to avoid sunlight, and your lips crack and bleed no matter what you do, and you have to be religious about moisturiser and sunscreen . . . BUT for me it worked, though I have had 'top ups'. Now I use Proactiv, and that keeps me from minor breakouts.
I guess it depends on whether you are talking about whitehead/blackhead outbreaks or the really nasty 'cystic' acne that doesn't always break the skin, it just hurts, pulsates and lasts for weeks.
The latter, for me, only responded to the heavy duty drugs. Now I only get little pimples, which after the other, I can live with, and Proactiv keeps them under control.
Everyone is different, however. Proactiv contains benzol peroxide, and any skin cream that has that at 10% ought to offer the same results (often for less $, if that is an issue for you). Personally, I like Proactiv, the smell is inoffensive to me and my skin likes it.
Everyone's skin is different. As you will hear as you get responses, some people like it, some hate it, and the only way to know is to try it. If you do decide to try it, buy it off ebay or something FIRST, because if you call or use the internet to order it, they send it to you every 8 weeks, which for me was too often, and it can be a pain to cancel it. That said, they will make the delivery schedule as long as you like, or cancel it when you ask - just make sure you keep the invoice with your customer account number on it!
There you go, more than you ever really wanted to know . . .
