short and sweet does it really work
i know that they test your blood for various things and to check for other conflicting conditions i just wonder if pcos would be one of them it's a lot of money to pay if it doesn't work for someone with our condition

I joined sure slim in Aug last year.. My target was to loose 23kg, and I've lost 13kg so far. They work out your contract based on how much wieght you need to loose, and they base it on you loosing 5kg a month - so mine runs out end of Feb... (Don't think I'll make my goal) But they advertise that you can loose upto 10kg a month (Probably if you are really strict about it)...
It does seem to work if you can stick to it - my problem is I cheat too often - so its been much slower for me to loose... You are only meant to cheat once a week, and I cheat more like once a day!!!
Its basically a low carb, balanced with protien type diet... With a few other rules, like you have to leave 5 hours between each meal (no snacks in between) and also you have to eat your whole meal within an hour. Plus a few other little things...
The only thing that they noted for me having PCOS was to buy organic meat. (But I haven't done that either...)
Hope that helps!

Well I can't remember what the organic meat thing was about - but i think it has something to do with the artifical hormones that could be in other meats???
If you decide to go ahead and join - PM if you need any support -The first couple of weeks are the hardest...
But its definately worth doing (says she with a mouthful of chocolate - BAD girl!) My Mother is also doing it, and she has done MUCH better than me, (she's stricter), she has lost 17kg which is just 3kg short of her goal - but she's happy with herself now, so has stopped anyway and gone onto the maintence program...
And if you are TTC, they also have a Pregnancy program too!! And this is a really cool thing - if you fall preg while on the diet, they FREEZE your membership, and put you onto the preg plan for your nine months, then if you want to Breast feed - they put you onto a BF plan, then after you have weened your baby - Your membership carries on again - you could be going there for years!!!! (I've only got this month left to fall preg so i can freeze my program - wish me luck!!)

gg if you are after more info there is a web site www.sureslim.com.au
but i'm not too sure if it is available in NZ
the price i was quoted was $745.00 it's not cheap but if you add up the cost of things like jenny craig it's not too bad
I havn't had the time the last few weeks to get down there but i hope to get started soon i'll keep you posted on how it goes

For the money, they do a blood test, to test your blood sugar, cholestrol (and I think there were other things too, but I can't remember what they were). Then they use those results to work out a diet plan for you. Then its a bit like WW meetings - except that the wiegh in's are individual.... And you've already paid up front instead of each week.... Then once you down to your goal weight, they give you a maintence program.... Teh support they give you is really good too - all the consultants have done the program themselves, so they can give you hints on how to manage things if you get off the track...
I had 23kg or so to loose and they worked out on 5kg a month it would take me 5months plus 2 months to convert onto the maintence program - so I got weekly weigh in's for 7months included.. if you have more wieght to loose, your contract will be for longer (but same price still)... On my going for 7 months, i worked out that it costs the same as paying $25 a week for WW... And because it cost me so much in one hit - I'm more likely to stick with it for longer!!!! (I'd tried WW before and only lasted like 2 months at the most)
oh, but heres a bummer - apparently they just changed the rules about the preg and breast feeding plan - (I asked again about it), now they are charging an extra $350 each or something like that... and the women told me, that its not worth doing either anyway - that the ladies that have tried those plans can't stick to them - esp with morning sickness and cravings etc...
Don't know if they are in NZ yet - I think its actaully a Canadian company???
Anyway, if there is a clinic near you, go to one of the presentations they do - you don't have to join on the spot, but they explain the way it works...
Good luck girls!!!
