Default Has Met changed your hirsutism?

Just wondering, some articles say yes, some say it doesn't. Looking for your opinions.

Sorry I must add, I'm considering getting off Aldactone due to the possible birth defects even though I'm not actively TTC. But I'm praying Met helps with hirsutism. Thank you for your time!

I have the other problem--hair loss. Met has actually made my hairloss worse. I am hoping the reason is that it regulated my hormone levels, causing fallout that will grow back. My fingers are crossed!
There are a few cysters here who have lost hair on Metformin which did not grow back.
Maybe if you are hirsute, it will make just your excess hair fall out! TEE HEE
Good luck,
Barbara

Nope, the only thing that has helped me is electroloysis; or try laser (def worth the money). AFter it is done; you won't have to continue buying bleaching kits; waxing kits; or plucking (which scars in my opinion).

Good luck!

Default add an option

Ya should add another poll option, "made it worse" That's what happened with me, unfortunately. I gave it 8 months and the "cosmetic" side effects were heinous, plus I didn't O and gained weight to boot. Yuck. Even after quitting the met, my hair sure didn't regrow, the mustache didn't go away, and the weight didn't go away either. Only until I started DCI did those things start to reverse.

Did a number on me, but it also raised my DHEA...not sure why.

I need "I don't know yet" on the poll. I've only been on it 5 weeks so far.

Sorry ladies, I guess I should have thought of all the possible responses. I think I'm going to give Met a try but take NPC and probably another natural supplement for the hirsutism. Thanks for your opinions!

Nope, not for me.

I had to do 10 laser treatments and even then I still have to shave a few times a week. It's managable now though...I used to have to shave 2x a day and still have a shadow under my chin/neck. It was mortifying.
