my hair receding gets aggressive every couple of months, and I am going through an agressive phase right now. Just started back on met, hoping it will help. Any success stories?
Thanks!!

I have been on met for 2 1/2 years and I think if anything it at least keeps any more hair from falling out! The only time I saw a huge hair loss since I started met was when I went off my BCP to try to conceive.

I am really hoping to see some results from the met as far as my hair loss goes. I haven't seen anything yet - it's still falling out at about the same rate that it was before I started taking met. Although I do see some shorter hairs starting to grow in some areas, so maybe it is helping to kick-start some regrowth (or maybe that's just natural regrowth...I'm not sure yet).
I went on Met hoping that it would help with my hair loss as well as my other many problems, but after taking it for 2 months I started noticing that the hair loss is the same. I did some research and realized that Met has been to known to actually contribute to hair loss because it inhibits the absorption of calcium which aids in the absorption of b12. I just read this about 2 weeks ago, but the website: http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/vitaminb12.asp
says that you should supplement with 1200 mg/day of calcium if you are taking Met to reduce the occurence of symptoms. I haven't had the chance to get some calcium yet, but it's worth a try at least, because calcium deficiency can lead to osteoporosis in the later years. I also take b12 supplement 400 mcg per day just for good measure. I hope everything works out for you. I pulled my hair in a ponytail this morning and I had to "arrange" the hair in the front to cover the extra thin spots.

When I started Met in November I had some bald spots at my temples and my hair wasn't thick anymore. The bald spot is completely gone on one side and the other side isn't as bald as it was. My hair is thick feeling again.

I know exactly what you're talking about FAERIE1430. When I style my hair, I also have to arrange it in a way to make sure that the thinner spots (mainly on the top and front) are covered. I'm soooooo self-conscious about it and honestly spend way too much time thinking about it. I absolutely fear getting my hair wet or messed up in any way in public (rain, etc.) because then it looks really thin and bad. Even if I sweat a lot, I worry about it because sometimes if it's really hot my head will perspire and therefore cause my scalp to become damp, etc... You get the picture.
When it comes to my hair, I have become a total control-freak.
I've got my fingers crossed for the met to help us regrow some (or all hopefully) of the hair that we've lost!

P.S. Congratulations OrangeDaisy on your success! Hopefully we're not far behind you!!
