With how I look and my weight and how i look permanently pregnant, I dont like going out to bars or clubs or lunches or anything these days.
I just got invited out again to another event at a bar and I always stress, should I go, should I not go and I always never go. Nothing ever fits and I cant afford a new wardrobe(sp?)
Just something I thought about today. Im also sick of being asked how many months along I am ( and im not pregnant!)
OMG thats sound like im listening to my life every single this u wrote is me & how I feel as well! Well felt for the longest time. But i realized I miss out on way 2 much and I am who I am and I make sure I go out and enjoy myself! Plus I have anxiety being in large groups of people so that does not help but I have been fighting it all! U really need to stop and think of how much u r missing out on in life because of the PCOS, we cant let it control us!!

Sorry to hear you're not feeling up to going out right now - we all get this way at some point and it sucks, it really does!
Have you been tested for Insulin Resistance? The reason I'm asking is because when you are IR a good deal of the weight packs on around the middle and hits the belly.
If you're not already maybe you could try a low sugar regime, an IR diet or get a prescription for Metformin (if you're not already on it).
Try not to feel so bad, take it as an ebb and flow thing. If you can't face going out, don't feel guilty, cherish the time to be you and with yourself.

Yes I am IR and Im also on Metformin. I started it last week starting at 250 mg per day and moving up 250 each week.
I just keep thinking everyones talking about me and my weight gain and I was right a few times. I overheard a few people and got sick of crying in public so decided to best leave it. Ive been on met for a week and havent lost anything. Before Met I was on a good low GI and IR diet and exercised over an hour a day and didnt lose a single thing so not sure what to do.
Aww hon. That does suck. I totally feel ya though, the few times I get invited anywhere I beg out because I hate how I look or feel. I got lucky on wardrobe because I shelled out at Lane Bryant- any way you could get like, one outfit you feel more confident and sexytime in?

Some people are such idiots. You've just got to rise above, I know it's easier said than done but they've got the real problem, you can lose weight - they can't diet away their personality disorder LOL
Give the Met some time to kick in, your body has to adjust first and let the dose build up - if you're anything like I was you'll be feeling pretty upchucky to boot at the moment. Once the "ugh feel like puking" bit of the Met wears off you'll start to feel better. You'll notice it because you'll feel like you've got extra energy and you'll start to perk up.
Remember to drink plenty of water, kick the soda (even diet) if you're drinking it because it'll mess with what the Met is trying to achieve and just hang in there and wait - it will happen for you.
PS: A little O/T. One of the things that I do that really helps when I'm feeling down or frustrated is to knit. I know it sounds weird but they did an extensive survey that proved that knitting has a calming/zen like effect on people and a lot of people battling health problems swear by it.
I've been knitting since I was a kid but these days I am constantly coming across women of all ages who are taking it up because they're not only dealing with stuff but because they're plus sized. There are tons of plus sized patterns you can get and you get such a sense of achievement too.

There are also knitting circles that meet in most major cities and towns - not granny but cool ones

Knitting could work. And if you like fabric, and are decent with sewing or a sewing machine, there's always quilting. You could also try beading, as in jewelry. That helps me sometimes. (Unless I try doing something I shouldn't, then I want to beat someone.)

I really feel for you!! I know exactly what you mean! I would much rather hide in the house myself. I had an incident where I went out with my girlfriends and this real low life from my hometown came up to me and looked me up and down and asked me in front of everybody what happened to me. I couldn't believe it!! Do people have no tact? Then he asked me if I had some kids or something and said how I used to be so hot. My two friends that were with me were speechless as I was myself. It was just shocking to actually hear somebody be so rude. This was well over a year ago and I haven't gone out since. I'm just glad summer is over and I can hide in my big sweatshirts now!
