Ok I went and picked up the clomid today and will start taking it tomorrow. I asked the Pharmacist what the side affects are and he said 'Pregnancy'. I just laughed.
BUT seriously ladies....when do I take this..when do you take it? When you eat? I was thinking of taking it the same time I took Metformin in the morning with food. BUT did you notice anything different when you took it?
Ok...so I need you input..Thanks

S/E for me include super-grouchiness, hot flashes and headaches!
I take it in the evening after my meal. Some cysters say that you can minimize the S/E from the Clomid by taking it at night. The main thing is to take it consistently each day at the same time.
Are you starting off on 50mg? I am now up to 100mg and I think I have seen posts from cysters who have gone up to 200mg on advice of their doctor. This is pretty rare though.
Good luck with it

My side effects were real bad hot flashes and mood swings. sore bb's and upset tummy, and 1 time on it did give me a yeast infection so I would take it with yogurt.... Also some people do get less cm with clomid and robitussin can help with that!
I took mine at the ame time everyday. I didn't notice a difference between morning noon or night for me personally so I would take it in the evening before dinner..
G'luck

I must say that I hope I don't get super moody cause that is a problem...I already do get super moody.. I will have to warn everyone at work again on monday that I am on new meds.
Other than that...poor dh we will finally be alone as of Tuesday night and I don't want to be that moody.
Finally alone...oh that would be awesome...considering we have had company and dh has to work nights till Tuesday morning and he will be moody himself if he dosen't sleep a little that day.

unfortunatly I did not respond to 100mg of Clomid and Fortunalty i had mild side effects! I only experienced a couple of hot flashes and some discomfort on my overies. I was moody and emotional though...
I think everyone responds completly different.
Good luck and let us know how you make out!

Back to your original question- Somebody dropped the ball. Your Dr. should have told you how to take the drug and what the side effects are. Then, when you picked it up, your pharmacist should have gone through this again, or at least ask if you had any questions. Then there should also have been a printed out sheet of info in with your Rx that went over this same info. If you have questions again, call the pharmacist or go back in and ask. You may have been dealing with a pharmacy tech(usually a student) who didn't know about the drug in depth. DO NOT tolerate ignorance or indifference in the medical profession!!!!! You are entitled to accurate information, and you pay for it!! This is the only body you're going to get here on this Earth, and you need to be informed before you alter it in any way.

Sorry. Wrong info. I was thinking of spiro when I said that bit about diuretic, but the rest of the post I stand behind!! Clomid, of course, is to stimulate follicle development.

I have heard that you shouldn't be on Clomid for more than 4 cycles as it then works more as a contraceptive than an aid. Apparently after that many months it thins the lining of the uterus making implantation impossible (if you are ovulating). Also if you ever have real SEVERE abdominal pains especially if accompanied by flu like symptoms or fever - call your doctor immediately. There is a rare risk of hyperstimulation of the ovaries which is increased in us cysters. Hope the clomid works for you - I start mine this week too!

the side effects for me were ALL the symptoms of a pregnancy, but no pregnancy. I had sore boobs, indigestion, hot all the time, nausea (slight), hunger and cravings, moodiness...the list goes on. I know it was the Clomid, cause when I'm not on it, I don't have all of those symptoms!
Sherry...good luck by the way!
This was my second month on clomid. The first month i ovulated but this past month i did not, so my doc is upping the dose. FOr me, the only side effect i have noticed are the hotflashes! WOW! They are crazy! My doc has advised me to take the clomid in the morning with food. Just thought i'd let you know. hope everything goes well for you!

My dr also recommended that I take my clomid in the AM with food. My first two cycles on it, I took it at night because I read about possible decreased side effects if taken then. But this cycle I took it in the AM. Don't know what dr wanted me to take in AM. Will ask him next time.

I had sore bbs a month after I took my frist round of clomid. I had tons of s/e on the first round. Such as depression really bad, nausea, being horney. Then a week ago the hot flashes showed up. I took my second round of clomid this week and no s/e at all.

I'm on my 6th and last cycle of clomid. I've been on 50mg the first 5 times and now 100 mg. My main side effects are insomnia and hot flashes. I think its better if you take it in the am with food.
