Default Have to take Provera before starting BCPs?

I have taken Yasmin for 3 1/2 years. I stopped it in March and used NPC for the month of April because I wanted to not use BCPs for this last 6 months before we start TTC. Well, I did not have AF and my facial hair, oily skin and acne have come back really bad. I am wanting to start the Yasmin again and use it till we are ready to TTC. Does anyone know if I have to take Provera and have a period before I can start back on the Yasmin? TIA

Mandi

I didn't have a period for 6 months before I went on BCPs and I didn't have to take anything. You know how it says in the instructions to start your first pill on the first day of your period? My Dr told me to just ignore that and start rightaway. So I took the first pack and then I had a bleed as normal.
HTH,
Alex

I have to take Provera to bring on a period first. I can't just go right into the pack. I think it's different for everyone.
