My psoriasis didn't start until age 20 - the year my period stopped. I'm 25, and years 24 & 25 (the worst years of my PCOS) my skin was the worst. I'm on two immunosuppressant drugs to try to clean my skin. Nothing worse than being fat and having your whole body covered in red scaly patches!

The one I hadn't suspected has a lot of health issues including fatty liver, fibromyalgia, endometerosis and post tubal ligation syndrome among other things. I wonder if she has PCOS, but I did encourage her to get checked for liver and insulin problems yearly. She is also worried about her daughter and son because of their weight and sugar cravings.

My Mood: Points: 8,275.51 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 8,275.51 | Endometriosis (some say it is autoimmune, some say it isn't) and getting tested for Chronic Fatigue. I had a really bad bout of mononucleosis when I was 19 and it will flare up from time to time (at least it seems that way... the jury is out about some of the complications that come along with the epstein barr virus). I have a lot of symptoms of many different autoimmune disorders but Dr says none of them are *severe* enough, but I'm pushing to figure it out before things do get bad so I can take steps to help myself. |

My Mood: Points: 315.23 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 315.23 | I have Lupus (SLE) and Fibromyalgia. The aches, pains, and sleepless nights really take a toll on the body and mind. I know that my dad has arthritis from an old injury but no real autoimmune disorder. I have little to no contact with my birth mom but do know that diabetes runs in her family and she gave me severe thyroid problems (she and all 7 of her sisters had thyroid problems...since she walked out when I was 9 months I had no clue to watch for it and after more than 10 doctors missed it I almost died). I have only recently received the PCOS and IR diagnoses and hope that some weight loss and of course more meds will help. |
