Default Have you had Endometriosis?

How were you DX and what treatment are you doing?

Mainly, how the heck do you go to work everyday?
I'm on my feet 8hrs a day and by hr 5 I can hardly stand it.
It takes all my will just to keep going(With alot of IBprofen too!)

Please let me know.
I go for surgery the 21st to see if this is what I have.
They also suggested I have fibroid tumors too!
My exam showed my Uteris twice the normal size.
(No I'm not PG either)

I was DX many moons ago with endo a year AFTER my son was born.....very heavy painful periods. I had to plan my live around my cycle. I was lucky if I had one good week a month. I don't know how...but I lived with it for many years...needless to say...I wasn't a very happy camper MOST of the time. At times I thought I was insane. But I manged to function. I had a young child who needed me.

After several years of infertility, I opted to have a laproscopy to remove as much tissue as possible as well as cysts. I could live with the infertility issue..but not the pain. When I saw the photos of my "insides" .....yuck....but at least I knew I wasn't crazy.

Still unable to conceive (didn't know at the time that I also had PCOS's cloud hanging over my head too) I chose drug induced menopause. The concept is that if you have no cycle then the endo tissue would die......I did this twice, the first time for 9 months, 6 months off, and then for 12 months. It was to wonderful to live painfree...but then I had to deal with all the lovely symptons of menopause.......I survived.

Today....I can't even tell when my cycle is about to start.....they are short (4-5 days)....minimal and almost painfree. I think this is the way it is suppose to be....oh and I do believe the Glucophage has helped big time too.

I can honestly say I know how you are feeling. The only way to properly DX endo is with surgery.....you should get a good bit of relieve after but the is no way they can get all of the tissue...(I had some on my bladder as well as in the muscle of my utereus that they could not zap). That's where the drug induced menopause came into play....it was called Syneral....a nasal spray that I took twice a day. Very expensive, but my insurance did cover it......I'm sure your doctor will discuss things with you. If not ask!

Good luck with your surgery. I hope you do get the full relief you deserve and let me know how it goes. Oh...the surgery's not so bad....I had 3 small stitches and a bruised belly button for a week.

Have faith...you will get better.

I dont have endometrosis but my friend Marian has and last week she was also diagnosed with PCOS and and wait for it she has Irritable Bowel Syndrome as well!

I would like to help her as much as I can especially with the low carb diet but dont know if she will take my advice!

However, I cant imagine how a woman can cope with endo and PCOS! So anything I extra I can learn and try to pass on to my friend would be great.

Helen

Default Never officially diagnosed..........but, the 'E" word was mentioned by Doc

However, due to heavy bleeding had to have a D&C back in october and they found 4 fybroids and Doc said the reason for the pain was due to AF going back up!!! I feel soooooooooo
much better now.

However, I have been on agystin since then, bleeding still has not stoped unless I take the pills.

Best wishes,
Kim

I have endometriosis as well as pcos and it's like hell at times. The exhaustion is getting me most at the minute. But i did buy a good book on amazon recently and it is great! It's called Endometriosis - healing through nutrition. It has a huge section on herbal, nutritional etc remedies for endometriosis with pcos and also for dealing with the chronic pain.

If there is anything i can do or help you with please e-mail me. My address is on this site with my info.
