I was DX with PCOS on 9/12/07 and I've been on Met since then. At first I was eating as healthy as I could. I lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks and I was so excited...then I threw a Bunko party and served all kinds of goodies, which turned into left overs and I started snacking on them everyday...then I started adding carbs back in like deli sandwiches and chips and halloween candy. I'm just so bummed out today and I want some advice from you guys on how to snap out of this pity party and get back in gear. To be honest, I've always eaten lots of sweets, lots of bread, lots of all of the wrong things and it's just so hard to break these bad eating habits but I want to so badly so I can be healthy and so we'll have a chance to be parents.

How well I know this feeling. I have been struggling the same way. You really have to be stern with yourself. And one of the tricks is if you want something, don't deny yourself. Allow yourself a few bites of whatever it is you are wanting. If you deny yourself whatever it is you are wanting, eventually you will just eat a ton of it and then feel even worse. One thing with getting healthier/losing weight you have to learn to have a lot of self dissaplin (i know I spelled that wrong). That is one big thing I am struggling with.

I was dxed with PCOS about a year ago and my dr. put me on Met 1-07. After 8 months of diarrhea, he changed my rx to glyburide. Like you, I lost the weight on Met, but I could not get rid of that one horrible side effect. I am almost positive it was because I wasn't watching what I ate (other than from my hand to my mouth), but I just couldn't change my eating habits. I hope you get back on track and doing "right" again soon.
