HSG is done!!!! It went so much better this time (I think it took longer for me to get cleaned up after than the entire procedure did) It was a little uncomfortable but I was on valume and vicodin. Just when it started to really hurt it was over. I was a little dizzy when I went to the bathroom to change/clean then came out to where DH was waiting and started to pass out. I'm finally home and just going to relax and watch tv the rest of the evening. I have also decided to take tomorrow off as a mental health day after everything I have been through the last two days. We may start BD as early as tomorrow, although he is worried it may hurt me after the past two days I said I think I'll be ok. I should o this weekend!

I did not think it was that bad. My tubes were open (I don't know if that makes a difference or not.) It wasn't that painful at all for me at all, and I have a medium threshold for pain so to speak. It felt like AF cramps and my stomach felt very full and I felt some pressure. Personally, it was uncomfortable, but not so much painful. The cramps only lasted for about 5 minutes at most and aftewards I had some AF type cramps for 30 minutes or so. It was a lot better than I thought it would be!

Mine was absolutely horrible. I went in for the first try on Monday and the woman was very rough and could not get the catheter in. She stabbed me and pinched me with the speculum then told me there was something wrong with my cervix because she could not get it in after three tries. She even burned me with a light because she said she could not see what she was doing. So I had to go back to the doctor on Tuesday where he took a look at my cervix and told me there was nothing wrong but to make it easier for the second try at the HSG that afternoon he decided to dilate me with no pain meds. This is a pain I would never wish on anyone. I'm sure I scared everyone out of the office when I screamed. He then aranged with radiology to do the catheter that afternoon and gave me vicodin and valume to take before the HSG. After Mondays pain and that mornings pain the HSG was not too bad. The only thing that hurt was the cramping when they pushed the dye and just as it became unberable it was over.

That's so horrible! Why won't they give pain meds? It's a sexist thing. I bet if it was men who had to go through this dilation, pain meds and sedatives would be standard protocol UP FRONT!

I'm soooo hoping that my anesthesiologist gives me the right amount of anesthesia so I don't wake up while they are doing my hysteroscopy b/c I think they will have to dilate me.

Mine is on the 10th, I've already got the zanax and vicodin in hand. It's good to hear that yours went well once you got the pain meds in you. I can't take anything but tylenol so I was very happy that I got enough insight from the site to realize I was going to need something stronger, especially since I hurt when I get a pap.

Honestly I'm absolutely freaked out, but am kinda hoping that I am blocked. There's got to be a reason why we're still brat-less you know?

The worst part was of the HSG was monday because she was so rough with the speculum and could not get the catheter in. Tuesday was just uncomfortable whne they pushed the dye and I started cramping but just as it got bad he was done. You really don't want to be blocked because that causes more problems. Sometimes the HSG opens everything up. My doctor said a lot of women get pregnant the month they have their HSG.

The Second try on the HSG was nothing after what I went through Monday and especially Tuesday morning. I had to get dilated and that was the extremely painful part and I was not on ANY pain meds for that. He gave me the ones for the afternoon mainly to relax me after all the trauma I had been through.

My RE is actually doing my HSG. He figures he knows the vahjayjay about as well as anybody besides me and DH, so I am VERY happy it's not some stranger poking a catheter around up there. Usually for something like that I've got to be waaaaay drunk.

I know I don't want to be blocked, but after 5 years, and the last 9 months medicated and monitored, with everything doing exactly what it's supposed to be doing, I'm at the end of my rope as to why we're still not preggers. DH's SA was excellent, I'm producing good follies, I'm ovulating, I've got the CM figured out, my hormone levels are under control, my estradiol is great... I mean, at this point I wonder if I'm being slipped birth control or something.

I think its only like a 25% chance of getting pregnant any month in your early 30s when everything is working properly.
