Red face Having trouble with Metformin/Glucophage/Fortamet

I need help!
I was diagnosed with PCOS a while back and I'm trying to stay on my meds but I'm having a horrible time with the Metformin family of drugs. First on Glucophage, then Glucophage XR, then Metformin XR and now on Fortamet extended release (usually 1000mg but also 500mg and 1500mg).
I have had the issue of losing control of my bowels, often with so little warning that I cannot make it to the bathroom. I'm in my early 30s and feel like my option is take the medicine and start wearing diapers or not take it and continue to get sicker.

The different brands are the result of my doctors thinking that one brand may affect me less than another and I've tried taking them with food, without food.. I have gone for long periods of time without a problem, but once the problems start they don't stop. And it takes a long time for them to dissipate once I stop the meds.

It was so bad that on a recent vacation overseas I had several accidents even though I stopped taking the meds.

I am hoping that someone may have some tips that can help me with taking this medicine so that I can lose weight and get my health in order.

Thank You!
