I think I am going to miscarry my first pregnancy :-(
I am sooooooooooooo sad right now! I feel so hopeless
My Dr told me that my levels were moving too slow and that it may be ectopic or I will miscarry. I go for an ultrasound on Friday.....and I just know in my heart that this baby is not going to make it
Has anyone had an ectopic and then had a successful pregnancy? I need to know for assurance! I keep hearing that after one ectopic you probably will have another!
Although I dont know if it is ectopic yet...I just would like to hear some testimonials.

Hang in there! All is not lost yet. Just wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers. My best friends HCG levels rose very slowly with her first pregnancy and her little boy is a happy and healthy 5 yr old now. Don't lose hope.
Take Care

hi ...first of all i am sorry you are going through such a tough time
secondly may i ask what you numbers have been ? i cant see your numbers posted anywhere to have a look at ...but im thinking that maybe you have been missinformed ..... from your first muber its perfectly normal for it to rise by just 80% (someone correct me if im off on that figgure) in the 48/72 hour gap between testing.
dont give up hope just yet stranger things have happened .... you may just be very normal and have your numbers increase just enough
jojo is right, and actually a pr can be normal if #s are rising only 50% in a 48 hour period. But, it's also true that if it's rising less than 66% in 48 hours, there's about an 80% chance that something is wrong and if the rise is less each time, there is almost definitely something wrong.
I had a suspected ectopic (mine, like many, could not be confirmed without a lap which I did not want) but then went on to get pr again and it was not ectopic and seemed fine until something went wrong late in the 1st trimester. Even though I lost this second pr, I do want you to know that it is very possible to have a healthy pr and the likelihood of a second ectopic is actually not all that high. I forget the stats on that, but I remember that it was something like 80% chance of not having another ectopic.
One thing to consider though is this... ectopics are rare generally but much more common with infertility patients and they suspect this may be due to very high levels of progesterone during the days just after conception when the tubes are trying to move the embie along. If progesterone is too high at that time (mine was 64) it acts as a muscle relaxer and causes tubal spasms to be less effective in moving the embie through the tube.
If you got an hcg trigger shot, you might want to consider a lower dose next time or if you were on progesterone supplements right after O, you might want to consider whether they are needed or not. Obviously though, there are other reasons that could cause this (infected or scarred tubes etc.) I am sorry that things aren't looking too good, but there is still hope... and if you do have an ectopic, just know that the chances of this happening again are not too high.
Another point here is that often an intrauterine "non viable" pr that is about to m/c will show the same symptoms as ectopic in terms of hcg levels. There's really no way to tell the difference unless hcg is above 1500 when they might be able to see a sac in the uterus via u/s. But when levels are lower, as most are, they can't differentiate between them and so you may not have ectopic at all. I for one highly suspect that my 1st m/c was not ectopic. Anyhow, best of luck. We'll be thinking of you.

First, let me just say thank you to all the ladies that responded so quickly.
I really appreciate all of your imput.
Just to give u all a bit of the stats my HCG level was first at 176 (that was almost 3wks after conception) then I went for another one about 5 days later and that one was 200+ (she didn't tell me the exact #) and then I went a 5 days later and that one was 300+. So I mean it doesn't look good at all...but they dont wanna tell me that.
I hope that this ultrasound I am doing 2morrow will show what i need to know. I would love to have a healthy baby...but I just know in my heart this baby is not strong enough....I just pray that its not an ectopic and that I will be just micarrying on my own for whatever reason.
Is there a way that I can maybe prevent a miscarrage from happening another time? Is Metformin good for that? I have read alot about Metformin being used to help prevent early miscarrage.
Somebody please help?
Thanks sooo much!
