Hi Morena,
I'm in the same boat you are. As far as I know, my doc said I would ov and I wouldn't have to check w/opk but then I had a BFN two weeks after the HCG shot, so I'm not entirely sure what the reason was. I have a feeling all the fertility meds do cause you to get a period, although I am on Met at 1000mg and it might be helping me that way, though I'm not IR. (Thinking about going off of it). Hope someone else has more answers!

I just asked this same question on the TTC boards. I'm curious as well. If the 150mgs of Clomid don't work-- I'll be on to injectables.

According to my RE as long as you have a mature follicle around 20mm then you will definetly ovulate, and if you definetly ovulate then your period if no pregnancy should start in 14 days..Hope this is helpful.

My RE was able to determine when and how long I ovulated with bloodwork a week after my trigger so I'm assuming they can also determine whether you ovulated or not.
