weird - for the past couple of weeks, I've been getting headaches every day too. usually they hit sometime between 3pm - 5pm.
I have no idea why...never suffered from headaches before, but these ones make me want to cry!
I'll be interested to see what any others suggest since I'm, unfortunately, unable to pass on any ideas.

i had one that hung on for a really long time and a friend told me that dehydration causes headaches.
After that i dropped all fluids except water for a while and made sure i drank lots of it. I always carry a bottle of water with me and truthfully it has helped a LOT.
i now drink other things but whenever i feel a headache coming on i drink a big glass of water and it often helps.

I get headaches all the time but that's b/c I fractured my skull when I was 10. Now I get headaches when it rains mostly but lots of time in between as well. I love Excedrin, especially the melt in your mouth tabs. They don't taste very good but they work quickly. Some other tips:
1. Get lots of sleep, my worse ones can only be slept off
2. Take a hot, hot shower, relaxes whole body
3. Drink lots of water
4. If you're in the midst of a migraine, caffeine will give you some immediate relief. It opens the vessels in your brain and allows the blood to get there quicker. (so I've been told)
HTH!

Hey thinkthin,
I too get headaches pretty much everyday. I've had MRIs, and Cat Scans, seen neurologists and neurosurgeons, and nobody knows anything. You said that you take advil almost everyday, advil, along with other headache meds, can cause rebound headaches if taken too often. Sorry I can't help you much.

I used to get headaches constantly. They would last forever and then finally go away to only have another one start. I cut down my sugar and caffiene intake and they got MUCH better. I have one on average about once a week now. Is better than every day all day. I hope your's gets better.

Does anyone get a headache that comes up suddenly, hurts like heck (almost like lightening bolts) then is gone after a minute? What is it caused from? My doc says she gets them from being overtired.
I haven't had one for over a year but sometimes I feel like I'm going to get one and it scares the heck out of me.
I used to think I was going to have a stroke or something, but my blood pressure is fine. I'm on water pills and check it fairly frequently. It only gets a bit high when I go the doctors office

my head just feels sore all the time and sometimes its headaches or migrains. I go for a MRI next week for my dizziness so maybe something will be found there. Or maybe its just another side effect of met.
I'm relieved to know that I am not alone in my struggle with migraines. I've been getting them for 5 years now, and my doctor at the time said that they were hormonal, and put me on BCP. So I was on that until last summer when I got fed up with taking the pill every day, and at that time my period was more headache than bleeding. I wanted to see if I could get any relief by going off the pill. I did for a few months, but I began to get migrainse more and more often. So last May I finally went to see an OB/GYN, and she diagnosed me with PCOS, and said that these migraines MAY NOT be hormonal. So now I am completely confused as to the cause of these headaches, and frustrated because all I want is for them to go away so I can live a somewhat "normal" life. As it is now, I really only have maybe one good week per cycle. Later this month, I'm going to see yet another dr, and hopefully he will be able to help me.
