My daughter has just beeen told she has PCOS after almost a year of being told she didn't have it. Last March she was put on spironolact 100 mg and the bcp yasmin. She was experiencing moodiness, facial hair, and weight gain, back aches. After taking the meds she felt great, somewhere around Sept. the doctor changed her bcp to Yaz, only because she had samples of it. She started complaing of feeling sick to her stomach, dizzy, and seemed to have more migraine headaches. She has always had a very regular period, and at times she would have headaches during her period. two months ago she started having one to two migraines a day usually at the same time of day, this lasted 2 weeks. She was told to stop the bcp to see what happened, she had only a couple very mild headaches while off the pill. But because of her other symptoms the doctor gave her the bcp Loestrin24fe she took it for two days and got a migraine, she also has her period, can bcp be in you system so fast, only two days and she gets a migraine? Also any opinions on her going back on yasmin, I thought this was a stronger bcp than yaz and would give her problems but she seemed to do much better on it. Any suggestions?
Tough call! I had to stop Yasmin, because of migraines. I loved what it did to my PCOS symptoms, but the headaches out weighed the benefits. I was almost debilitated.

I also get migraines while on BCP and probably will never go back on. I get the scary ones where you feel like you're having a stroke... numbness/tingling, slurred speech (I can think of what i want to say but the words don't come out right... very scary!) vision disturbances, nausea and vomiting, etc.... I do get migraines occassionally while off BCP, but it seemed worse and I just didn't like that BCP increase your chance of stroke and I was having stroke like symptoms (Neurologist pretty much told me that if the headache lasted 4 or more hours to come in, but wouldn't that be a little late?) I don't know how fast you would have it in your system and I don't really know what to tell you. I have a very mild case of PCOS, so for me, the benefits did not outweigh the risks. I'm on Metformin now while trying to conceive. I'm not sure if it would help her, but you may want to ask (and I am a thin cyster, so I know sometimes doctors don't prescribe it for thin women, but I'm 5'4.5" and 115 lbs and it works great for me) Good luck!
