I don't know if this would be from the PCOS or not, but I get headaches weekly. I can devour a bottle of tylenol within a few months. Usually they don't get too bad, but painful enough to need the aid of a pain reliever.
Every now and again, I'll get a bad migraine.
Anyone else get this? Is it related to PCOS?

I have had migraines since the age of four so I don't know it they are related. Also, I do know that migraines run in my family on my dads side. But for a while I didn't get a ton of migraines like I have had in the past 4 months. I don't know if it's the Met I am taking daily or what... But I think PCOS plays a role seeing as it's all hormonal and my migraines are triggered due to hormones... And I only take OTC meds when the pain is so severe that I turn into a monster of doom.

Well, I do know that I am hypoglycemic (low blood sugar). I produce way too much insulin - my sugar is typically between 50-80. I don't know if that means I'm IR or not because quite frankly my current pitiful OBGYN didn't have me tested.

I didn't start getting headaches like those until I started Yaz. Also, a few months after that I was dx'd with really high BP. I was taken off the Yaz, then was put on prometrium, which did help out. Now the headaches come one day mid-cycle and one day during AF. I read that some women with chronic headaches have them due to low estrogen levels at certain points in their cycles. I don't have the link right now, but I'll post it later. I think that's the cause of my headaches and some of you other ladies.

I get headaches..... I am having a hard time tracking down the cause as well. I needed new glasses. Got them, I take a upper for my ADHD, which I cut back, I also have sinus issues( not so much anymore after having a rhinoplasty a few yrs backs).... Then I realize that I get HOT right before my period and after. I also get hot when I ovulate. When I get hot I get a headache.....
Just my 2 cents

I get a headache at least once a week, sometimes 5 times a week. I carry tylenol everywhere I go! Honestly, I've never thought much of it or looked into it at all. I just never figured that it was a big deal.

I got my first migraine at 8 years old and have had them sometimes once a week, sometimes 3-4 times a week from that time on. All over the counter pain pills were like candy and did absolutely nothing for any migraines or headaches I had. Imitrex didn't work, Maxalt works sometimes if the migraine isn't that bad and Midrin works if I need to knock myself out. However, about a year ago I started Topamax and I can count on one hand the number of migraines I have had since then. I love it, even more I love not having constant migraines.

Ugh, speaking of these.. I have one today, and my sugar level is normal. I just don't understand. I guess headaches are normal, but this just seems so often!
Thanks for that link, soni. I'll definitely check it out

kld8087-- If your sugars are low, probably not IR.... as this tends to make your sugars high (insulin resistant=insulin doesn't work!) If you're not getting the answers you want from your regular ob/gyn, go see a reproductive endocrinologist.... OB/Gyn's have general knowledge about PCOS, but your experts are going to be RE's.... They deal with PCOS all the time! I especially suggest this since you're TTC... you don't necessarily have to do anything expensive with an RE, but they will know EXACTLY which tests/treatments you need. They may have a better solution for headaches too. (I LOVE my OB, but I'm going to an RE until I get preggo again...) BTW, I like ibuprofen better than tylenol... I take it with some caffeine (diet coke, dt mt dew ) and it does wonders for my hormone triggered headaches!
I get a migraine daily. Well, I take that back. I get one and it stays for a week. The only thing that helps (not much help) is hydrocodone. Aleve, Tylenol, Excedrine, etc. doesn't help me.
