Default Healing from the pill

I have been on the pill for 2 months, PURELY for contraception, but now thank God am able to get off it. It affected me badly before and though this brand is ok, I just don't trust the pill. I prefer natural methods ( as I am sure you all can guess!! )

I have taken vitex for about 18 months, but stopped taking it
regularly during the summer. It gave me back my periods after 9
months of amenorrhea prior to taking it but I never had "normal"
length cycles while taking it, they were the most regular I've ever
been though. My cycles were between 37 to 60 days. However, now my diet is much improved and I am going to take donq quai along with the vitex.

My question is: When should I start taking them? The first day my period is over?

Is there anything else I should take to help my body heal from taking the pill? Anyone have any ideas?

Scarlet, I'm glad that you're happy with getting off the pill. I did it about a year ago...and I love it!

For your first question, when to start taking Vitex, DQ, I don't know the specific answer, but I started about day 10 (just a chance start). I think many people, especially those with super long cycles/no cycles, start in the middle of their cycle. If you've just finished with the pill, and are starting your cycle, now would be a great time to start taking the vitex/dq.

The only important part to remember with DQ is not to take it during AF as it will make you bleed more.

When you took vitex before, did you take it your entire cycle/only pre-O/not during af? I only ask out of curiosity as usage patters vary. Personally, right now I take it my entire cycle (I've been on it for about six months), although, when I start ttc, I'll probably only take it pre-O (unless I start to lose its effect...which won't happen since I'll be pg soon ).

Congrats on the diet changes...I really think my improved nutritional status has made a huge difference in my health.

Oh yeah I won't take the DQ during AF as I already have lots of pain ( getting checked for endo).

I took the vitex my entire cycle before, as I didn't temp or watch my cervical fluid at the time.

Improving my diet has helped my skin although it's been hard to get back on track since Christmas. I'm still eating healthy but just not as perfectly.

Anyon else have any ideas? Someone on another board suggested a detox first. However will using milk thistle not "wash out" the efffects of my met? I am sure I have heard before that it will.
