"The Healing Power of Happiness" this is an article I came across in Ladies Home Journal Dec 2005
The caption for it was "Being in a positive mood can actually make you healthier. So start smiling and reap the benefits." Now I'm sure we have all heard this at some time or another yet reading it in an article put a new spin on it for me. This was also said (which made me think of this thread ) "Venting your emotions - especially during time of conflict - actually helps you live longer."
Thought it might be of interest to some of you out there and could still get the magazine in stores to read the whole article.

With the amount of venting that I do, I should live to be 100.

I know that I vent a lot to DH and it really makes me feel better. I think in just talking about my feelings that I'm able to better cope with things and move forward. Not that will ever forget because it is tucked away right inside my heart!

Michelle, that is so true. Sorry if I came off a bit sarcastic in my remark. I was being totally serious. But I do agree that smiling and making an effort to be happy can go a long way. There are times when this can be a method of denial, but other times, it can be a really good thing.

I didn't take it sarcastically - I've had that problem in the past writing on message boards and emails and trying to set the tone.
You are 100% right about it being "a method of denial" I found myself doing that at times throughout the day.
