I was just curious - do you consider yourself healthy or unhealthy with PCOS? It is kind of conflicting in me because I also have asthma, but I never thought of myself as unhealthy with that unless I was having trouble with it. But with everything else going on with PCOS, I kind of hesitate to put myself in the healthy category, you know?
My Dx is fairly recent, so I feel like I'm at a very unhealthy stage. I think, however, that someday I can achieve being healthy inspite of the symptoms of PCOS. I just have to change a lot in my life to get there. I see some people on the boards here that seem so healthy to me! I admire those ladies so much!
When I was first diagnosed with PCOS I felt unhealthy no make that *broken*... I was unhealthy before that and had all these things wrong even though I felt strong but getting the diagnosis was at first worse... and then I felt great when I started to get my symptoms under control but now that my diet is now out of control again I feel unhealthy again and not as strong...

I definitely feel unhealthy. I attribute it all to my weight, depression, and anxiety. While I realize those are all affected by my PCOS, I guess sometimes I fail to make the connection. I think once I start trying to lose weight again and get out of my house more when I return to school, I will start feeling better and more healthy.

I have times in which I feel mostly healthy which is what I voted. I do have days where I'd call myself unhealthy if I'm really dealing with PCOS symptoms, etc.

I voted no. So far I am the only one, though I suspect that will change. I feel sick most of the time and can't do my normal activities without a lot of pain and fatigue. Some things I can't do at all now. Not that I don't hope that things will get better, but I feel quite unhealthy now.

Being healthy to me means so many parts of you have to be healthy. I have asthma too but I always feel I am fighting a loosing battle between my Asthma that tells me at times to slow down and my PCOS which says to speed up. I am always tired all the time and the weight does not help with my Asthma. I tend to feel anxious too. I guess I really don't feel healthy at all because between the pain and the emotions I feel like I am fighting a loosing battle while climing up hill.
I picked healthy because now that I've lost my excess weight (so far 112 lbs) just about everything that was wrong with me before is gone. My type II diabetes is gone, my hypertension is gone & my severe sleep apnea is gone. The only thing now that I have is TB...but it's inactive and I'm almost done with my preventitive antibiotics.

I am overweight, and have high cholesterol and PCOS ( and what comes with it) Oddly enough, I consider myself healthy and I think it's mainly because my health concerns don't keep me from living life. But I KNOW I am unhealthy (am I making sense?) I get chest pains every now and then, and also don't do alot of things because of my weight. So I guess if anyone asks I am alway "Great, Fine, couldn't be better!" When I sit and think about it? I could be ALOT better.

Thanks so much for your answers. I really appreciate it. I have just never known how to categorize myself. I mean I feel alrigh - if I take 3 medications a day and watch what I eat. Sometimes event hat doesn't help and a still get depressed. Overall I think I am healthy, but the fact that I am going to be taking, at the very least, 2 medications for the rest of my life makes me wonder if I really am. Right now I take more medications than my father who has heart problems and I wouldn't classify him as healthy.
I am anxious to see what more people have to say.
I voted half and half because I have better days sometimes. I see so many other people in the world that are so much worse off like kids in wheelchairs or Downe Syndrome, scars, morbidly obese, cancer victims, etc. that I feel fortunate for the health I do have. I feel that if I lost some weight about 50 pounds and found out what was causing my pain in the pelvis I would be feeling 100% better or at least 99% better.
I voted Half and half because I still am trying to lose weight due to PCOS and I do have mild anxiety but I have had that for awhile since my older daughter was born.Other than that I think I am alot healthier since I have started exercising (since Feb) Meaning now I feel like I am getting stronger and my chorlestoral is now lower than it was.
