Cool, a GI friendly lunch!! Makes me wanna go even more now!!

Sometimes it's so hard to find a nice, healthy lunch that I don't have to make myself....

Cheers,

Well, I want to hear all about it!!! I can't go - bad timing with move and little bub in tow.....maybe next year.
I finally got my butt into gear and joined posaa. Just got my membership info in the mail today. It seems to me to be a GREAT organisation with a finger on the pulse....I think I'll really enjoy the newsletters and diet info.

Good on you Amy, that's great. It's well worth joining, even if you never get to a national conference. They offer so much, all volunteers hard at work trying to help thousands of pcos women they've never even met.

The main reason I joined Posaa is because they have a great agenda to get pcos on the health ministers radar and are trying to get a national taskforce happening. The aim of it is to get attention for services to pcos women and they can't do that without the support of large numbers of pcos women joining forces to fight for good treatment and services. Without us, their voice may not be heard as loudly and I would encourage all Aussie women with pcos to join the Association.

They want to do things like get laser hair removal into a medicare rebate status so that pcos women can get safe treatments from qualified medical practitioners. Another thing they are trying to do is get a set of national guidelines for medical practioners treating women for pcos such as having gtt/insulin type testing and metformin treatments as standard practice. They also keep an eye out for research projects and new ideas on pcos in Australia and the world, and try to get info out to the community.

They offer great webchats for members with specialists like exercise physiologists and nutritionists, which is great because the chats are free and you could wait months or pay alot or have to travel long distances to access these people. The newsletters are great too. So much for $20 a year (with a one off joining fee of ten bucks), when you think of how much money you've spent on pcos treatments/specialists, it's great value.

For anyone thinking about joining, just go to the website for details http://www.posaa.asn.au

You can access the conference details there too.

Ok Girls,

For any of you that are driving into the city, I thought you might want to know that you can park at Secure Parking at 137 Castlereagh St for only $10 if you happen to be an NRMA Member. Just go to secureparking.com.au, join as a member (it's free) and then print off the voucher.

We spent last night filling the goodie bags - I've got to say those that provided stuff were really generous.

See you on Sat (for those that are coming) and make sure you come up and say hello.

Mez

Some feedback from the 2006 Conference:

“Thank you very much for the time and effort you guys put into POSAA, I don’t know how you do it – but it is very much appreciated!”

Question: What would you improve about the conference: “Nothing, it was all excellent.”

“A great day, very informative, entertaining, fun and a great opportunity to talk to the experts, all I spoke to were helpful and approachable. Good job POSAA.”

“The speakers were excellent they all bought new insights and information that was easy to understand.”

“I’ve really enjoyed today’s presentations, Very informative and extremely relevant and motivating.”

“They were excellent speakers. Thank you for an excellent day.”

Question: Would you attend another conference? “Definitely!”

“I wish I was better advised by my gyno and GP about the syndrome and support available. It was a hard and lonely journey until I found POSAA.”

“It was an informative day, I really enjoyed it. The gift bag and program were fabulous.”

“The large amount of time set aside for questions was very useful.
