Default Hearing Heartbeat in my Ear?!

This started when I started Clomid. I'm done with Clomid so I think it's totally unrelated but at night, I hear my heartbeat/swooshing sound in my right ear! It is DRIVING ME NUTS!!!! Anyone have this?

No, I don't have any other symptoms - just this sound. And it's odd that it's only at night. I'm sure it's nothing and will pass any day now. I HOPE! Thanks for responding.

You might want to swing by dr's office (or if you know someone with the right equipment) to get your blood pressure checked.

Sometimes I can hear it when I'm in bed. I haven't figured out what is going on - I'm never in a different position or anything. If it doesn't go away in a while maybe ask your doctor, but if it's just every once in a while, I wouldn't worry about it.

I also have this problem, it's called tinnitus. Mine started out very slowly and mainly at night but it is now 3 years later and it is much louder and way more frequent. My blood pressure actually runs on the low side averaging about 105/60. I was sent to an ear, nose, and throat specialist and a neurologist at Mayo. Both were able to hear the noise through a weird stethiscope type tool that had the ear peices on both sides. They then sent me to do an MRI and they could see that my juggular artery is lodged behind my ear drum. The picture wasn't clear enough for them to pinpoint where the exact problem was though due to braces, and now I have metal plates in my face so a repeat MRI is impossible. They wanted to schedule an angiogram of my head but I refused due to the risk of stroke combined with my family history of stroke. Be warned, doctors don't tend to take this seriously and they made me feel like I was crazy and hearing things until the 2 specialists at Mayo were able to hear and even let my husband listen to it! Don't give up though, because this is a real thing and even though it isn't technically hurting you, I know it can be enough to make someone go insane! Let us know what you find out.

omg this has happened to me many times! it's usually in only my right ear and many times, is accompanied by a headache. i've had high blood pressure for 6 years and i take meds for it. i just figured that my bp was spiking and causing the ear thing. it's so weird to hear my blood swooshing in my ear. it doesn't happen when i'm in bed, but when i up and doing things. i asked my dr and he said that it was a vascular headache (migraine) since my bp was under control. i'm going to check into this tinnitus...

WOW! I thought I was crazy!!!! I hear it more times than not. What I find to be super odd is that if I apply pressure directly under/behind my ear the sound subsides and almost dissapears. But who the heck can walk around holding the back of their ear all day.... Good info though, I'm going to research the tinnitus....

Thanks for posting.
