Has anyone been on yasmin and had problems breathing? I’ve been having a lot of problems and haven’t gained much weight and I’m still doing the same exercises but my heart just seems to hurt. Like ill be sitting down and the next thing I know my heart is just racing for a few seconds. Has anyone else had this problem?

Well I was able to get an appointment with my gyno for early next week so ill find out if its my pills then, and im seriously thinking that it is my bcp

I had to stop yasmin after having horrible shortness of breath and heart palpatations , I was also experiencing racing heart beat first before the heart palps. i stopped and now im fine. i started desogen and am having no heart problems or breathing problems since. Im so happy to be normal again!!!

treating my symptoms with healthy foods ,low carb and physical fittness. juicing, and green smoothies, saw palmetto 480mg. mutivitamin,zinc,and just added desogen bcp for my acne.hope i clear up.

i went to see my gyn about that and she said it was because im over weight so she told me not to worrie. but i had lost 8lbs since ive been there in may so she told me i was doing a good job on losing the weight. and also before going to my gyn i ended up in the hospital and they gave me a blood gas test and said that i was getting oxygen so i shouldnt be worried.

All bcps can effect asthma or even bring it on, it is the progesterone in them, i would steer clear of yasmin as it is new and has not been really tested yet much. we are the test dummies for it. well they now have my info , at least mt gyno does. i vote for the older safer pills. i think the spiro in it turned progesterone is what is causing all these strange yaz only side effects. its better to me to just take the 2 seperately like a pill and some spiro , then mixed together like that and chemically all mixed up and alterd.

I would get another opinion. Especially if you were heavier BEFORE you started the BCP's and the problems only started after you started BCP's.
Shortly after i started BCP's, I developed severe depression and horrible night sweats, and daily hot flashes.
I suspected it was the BCP, and my doctor said I was depressed because I was fat, and I was hot because it was summertime...and I was fat.
Well...prior to the BCP, I had been 'fat', and was not depressed and rarely sweated...Much less a drenching sweat.
I went to a SECOND doctor, and she told me the same thing as the first. Finally, I read every bit of the teensy fine print on the pill insert, and sweating and depression were listed as side effects. I called the first doctor back, and demanded to be taken off of them.
The depression began to lift within about 3 or 4 days, and I lost 7 pounds that week without changing anything else.
The sweating took years to go away, and still never completely corrected.
Listen to your body.

Ive been getting night sweats like crazy the past few weeks and ive been getting the never ending hot flashes at school when im out side and sitting. I thought it was just cause I was running around all day. I never even thought It could be that.

Due to heart condition I can't take any BCP but what worked for is the the IUD Mirena. It makes my periods shorter and lighter (if they come at all) and it caused me NO problems. Also, when my IUD came out last year I got pregnant immediately with DD. Seriously the IUD came out on 8/1/06 and my estimated date of conception was 8/15/06. lol. I am getting another IUD now that DD is here.

I can't take any form of birth control for the same reasons as chest pain,shortness of breath ect......
I found this out for myself this week. I was taking Ortho-Tri-Cyclen, never had any problems breathing or with chest pains.. That all changed when I started taking them. I vowed I'd never take one again.

I didn't really have chest pains, but Yasmin made my blood pressure super high and I had to stop taking them.
