Unhappy heartbreak - chem pg after IVF

Last week I posted my +++hpt symptoms, after having +++ tests for 3 days in a row. This was my first IVF, and I was scared to hope that it had actually worked.

Well, the past 3 days the hpt's are getting fainter each day, and today I went for my beta. It is a day early as my clinic doesn't test until 16dpt - tomorrow for me. I have had no bleeding but don't 'feel' pg any longer - kwim?

I can't stop crying, DH looked so happy when I told him, and now it looks like it is over. I should get the beta results later today, but not holding my breath as have had 3 chemical pgs in the past, au natural, and this feel exactly the same.

Nic, I am so sorry for what you are going through. It is so hard when you get your hopes up so much, only to be so let down. I have been there too.
I have a close friend who tried IVF so I know how much it entails, so much preparation & diligence. How sad & disappointing.
I hope you are feeling OK & I hope & pray that a miracle happens for you & your beta will be a good number.
Good luck.

With my first IVF I thought for sure I would get a negative. I had no symptoms at all - not even sore breasts. I was completely shocked when they told me my beta was over 400! I still didn't believe them, and came home and took a HPT it was so faint - even with my beta being over 400. Do not get discouraged and good luck.

Nic, I had exactly the same problem last week. I know how frustrating it is and I am so sorry you had to go through this {{{hugs}}}
My first IVF ended up in chemical pregnancy, I had two positive FRERs, which got lighter in two days. Slightly positive beta turned negative in three days and af came in full force.

Don't hold your emotions, cry if you feel like crying, it helps. I cried my eyes out over the weekend, but now the hope is coming back. There are more embryos I have frozen that could stick for real.

Do you have frozen embryos that could be transferred later? FET has slightly less success rate then IVF, but it works. Hang in there, cyster, it will happen some day

Unhappy

Beta came back 21 - 15dpt that is biochemical. I feel devestated, but strangely calm - I knew on Sunday that my little ones hadn't made it, so now we can grieve. I have to continue the prog pessaries until fri though, which is frustrating because I want to bleed, and get this over with.

Having some AF pains now - maybe my mind will let this begin on its own now itis official.

thanks for your replies - we hold each other up at times like this.

Oh Nic, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. If anyone can relate to the utter frustration and sadness you are experiencing it is me. I went through IVF in August last year, got a positve beta and lost our baby in October. Not to say that one is worse over another but it is extra frustration when you put all that effort and money into IVF only to lose the baby. I often wish I hadn't got the positive beta at all, but then I would have never had the genetics testing done, I wouldn't have known I carry a blood clotting disorder, I wouldn't have known our baby was a girl and I wouldn't have known she died because of an extra chromosome somewhere it shouldn't have been. (((HUG))) Take care of yourself now.
