I have been having home heavy bleeding the past few months with lots of clots. What do the "clots" mean? I have never had them before when I was on BC pills; now that I am off them I get them.
With the bcp's you were just having withdrawl bleeds. Perhaps now that you are not on them anymore, you are actually ovulating which would explain the clots. If the egg is not fertilized each month, it has to pass somehow, along with all the lining

I kind of had the same situation because when I'm not on BC i don't get periods. I went a long time without a period and then suddenly I started bleeding very heavily with lots of clots. Turns out because I didn't have a period forever I never shed the linings and my body was "spitting" them out. Only thing was that the linings that had overgrown now had cancer cells - hyperplasia. So I had to be put on meds to quickly shed the linings.
If you have your period regularly without BC then i wouldn't worry too much, because they are probably just heavy from being on the BC. But if you weren't having periods regularly and all of a sudden all this bleeding I definatley suggest you see someone.
I had the same problem. The clots are just from excessive bleeding. The reason you get this off the bc pills is b/c your body is not making the regulating hormone needed to end the bleeding. The uterine cycle requires an ebb and flow of estrogen and progesterone. The cause is not enough progesterone. I had to have a 4 unit tranfusion b/c i tried to wait it out hoping it would end on its own. Now I have to take yasmin.
