Default heavy period after m/c

Ok so this is my first cycle after my m/c. It's heavy, clotty (small clots) and painful... ugh! :o Is it supposed to be like this? Don't ppl usually have light periods.. I guess this means I worked up a good uterine lining? Erf.

All I can say is... OUCH. I can't even pee without feeling like my guts are trying to strain out. I HATE it when that happens!

after my first miscarriage, and despite a d&c, i bled for 45 days straight. sometimes it would pour out of me and sometimes it was light. doc put me on bcp and it went away. he never said what caused it other than 'hormones'.

For my first miscarriage (5/01), I did not have a D&C, and my periods were unbelievable. I would have to change my paid every 2 hours for at least 2 days of my cycle and they were never the same 2 days. This lasted until my second pregnancy (3/03). For this miscarriage I had the D&C because the doctor thought I was having a molar pregnancy, which the genetic testing showed was not a molar pregnancy. I have not really had any bleeding since the D&C, nor have I had a regular period. Hope this helps.

Well it let up a little today. I am not in pain today either. Let's hope things are settling down! My dr. on Fri asked me if this period was heavier and more painful than usual. I said YES! so I guess it's fairly normal. She also told me not to be surprised if it lasts longer than usual. She's pretty certain I can try again right away so we're planning for this month. **crosses fingers**
