I am 34 yrs old and have had 3 kids. I thought pds were supposed to get lighter and easier after having kids. Mine have definitely done the opposite. I have cramps so bad like I did as a teenager. I also bleed so heavily. My pap exam is this week. Does anyone know of any procedures or anything I can talk to my doc about? I am sure it is a little premature to have a hysterectomy. But I am tired of soaking a pad per hour and having cramps that cause pain from my waist to my toes. Any insight, advice or info is GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you cysters

I totally know how you feel, My periods are horrible, I cry from the pain sometimes, I went to my doc and toldhim about it and he just put me on some pain meds, which work a little........But other than that, that is all I know friend.

oh, i sooo know what you mean . thats why i decided to get a mirena iud fitted, which for me has been great. My periods are so much lighter now, and less painful. all the best for your dr visit.

You're not too young for a hyst if there is a medical reason for it. I'm around your age, and last year in August, AF just went nuts on me. TMI, but heavy bleeding, clots, and the worst cramps I had ever experienced. Turned out to be a uterine fibroid. I had the hyst about 8 months later after trying BCP and different meds, but my uterus revolted. I also had a run in with an inconsiderate ER dr who just let things get worse before I could get into my gyn.
There are other reasons besides fibroids for heavier bleeding and cramping, it could just be hormonal. If your dr doesn't suggest a transvaginal US, I would request one to rule out fibroids, polyps, adenomyosis, etc. If nothing is detected with a US, then a lap should be the next test to r/o endometriosis.
And you should know that if something is found, a hyst may not be your only option.
